Happy Ending KDramas/Movies - Rated

What a heartfelt sweet series. I liked it so much. Friendship and women support as well as the ML-FL romance are very much worth re-watching. Beware-Spoiler: At episode 11 the mom's attitude, talk and meddling became too stressful to watch. I skipped to episode 15 and I got the gist of what had been going on. It could have been a 12 episode drama... I finished it because I knew the ending, and I am glad I have watched it because the romance was beautiful and mature. The background story of what was going on at work seems to reflect what happens in quite a few places. Jin-ah's mom was the most stressful element of the whole series, that behavior was a trigger for me, and the whole reason I fast forwarded whole scenes and skipped episodes. Friendship and women support as well as the ML-FL romance are very much worth re-watching.

Fantasy - Romance - Mystery. College professor (ML) - Student (FL).

Mystery, comedy, action. Entertaining. I should re-watch it.

It was a very sweet series, with some mystery, and keeping the viewer guessing. It has many comical moments as well.

Another series that I postponed after watching 40 minutes of the first episode. I thought it may be a bit boring but it got very interesting and it was very sweet to see the development of the female lead and a caring, considered and sweet male lead. I am very happy that I gave it a go before the end of the year.

This was a sweet series, I like writers/magazines/journalists themes and this is also about pursuing one's dreams. It was very well done. A slice of life in it and a must watch!

I was positively surprised by this great short series. I had postponed watching it due to comments I had heard/seen, but as it is about social media, SM can be misleading. It is a bit of a thriller and "flashbacks". Don't miss it!

I love the main actor, but I find that this and another similar series are heart-wrenching: you don't know if there will be a happy ending. It had many sexy scenes and it was very enjoyable.

It is slow at times, but the importance of friends and family supporting each other no matter what. Childhood trauma and wounds are bittersweet and present all throughout the series, they make the series more of a sad drama than a comedy. You will end up liking the antagonists a bit as well. It has a happy ending but it provides food for thought and appreciation of those who care about us. *Watched on Viki.

I really enjoyed this comedy-romance. It is paced well and it is very enjoyable. It has some sexy scenes that are very welcome since it talks about one-night stands and enjoying sex. It is very re-watchable. Watched on Viki.

Not really memorable, but it was decent.

This is a strong female lead funny "action" movie. The male lead is good looking and funny as well. I recommend it when you want something cute, actiony, funny and with a happy ending!  It's not a serious action movie. :)

Makeup and maybe guys-guide tutorial with a bit of a silly story, a must NOT watch. It is the second type of short drama that includes tutorials for makeup. Quite terrible off-voice (narrator) with extra explanation on why guys do stuff, it is too patronizing and it almost looks myssoginistic the way a female needs to cater to a man.

Very cute and funny moments. The female lead is not a good kisser, or no vibes with male lead. 

Boring drama, happy ending but very boring.

Humor, Thriller/Mystery, Family Power-Fight, Romance, Fantasy. It mixes a bit of everything, but it keeps the viewer guessing who is who in the past. Now we are our future's past: whatever you do with your life right now, it will be your past in the future, it will have shaped your future self and those around you. Live accordingly since we are all intertwined.

Time travel to the past - Thriller/Mystery  with serial killer - Family relationships (judging others by what we just see; gossip; how the past and present shape one's future) - Light romance. High Quality, well thought out script and character development. Watched on Viki. Kocowa channel series. Great underrated series. I would watch it again.

Comedy, Romance, Fantasy (magic with ghosts). Hilarious and sweet. Magician helps police while playing detective - with the help of his contracted ghosts. Revenge and a bit of historical past/story. Very entertaining. Enjoyed a solid ending. On Viki.

On Viki. 10 episodes, 15 minute each, it's like a movie. Sweet romance - get back with previous bf. FL older than ML, friends to lovers.

Older melodrama (2012), but worth the watch. Gold-digger, corporation business. There's betrayal, rich-poor relationships, revenge.  - Watched on Viki.

In Netflix or Viki, strong female lead with good men's support. It is a bit of a thriller and power-trip. No romance, but some chemistry between the leads.

Netflix in 2024. It has comedy, some romance, supernatural (of course), and some suspense. I liked it more than I expected because it is not just about a ghost possessing a body. I don't know if I would rewatch it, but I really enjoyed it.

This is now one of my favorite shows ever.  I watched it on Viki in 2024. I kept postponing watching this show, and I regret not starting it sooner. Women supporting women, men supporting women, work environment where women have a voice, and it was great to see, for once, younger men be into a bit older women. There is romance and there is growth, new perspectives on relationships (they may be challenging to those who are more traditional). I will rewatch this show sooner than later because of the positive message of women at work, integrity and love. 

Watched on Viki in 2024. Great action movie, cars and speeding, some violence, sweet moments, as well as a few sad ones. Sacrificing for those one loves/cares about.

On Viki or Kocowa. 30' episodes. Thriller-Romance-Drama-Mystery. Serial killer, and how different two children from the serial killer are.  PTSD/trauma of the victims' children. It starts with the present, but it continues with a (few episodes) flashback. It is a great Kdrama. The actor portraying the young ML is outstanding and has portrayed many MLs younger self in other kdramas. I rewatched it because it had been a while since I saw it and I hadn't written down what it is about.

On Netflix, 2024. Young actors, funny scenes, romance and supernatural.

On HiTV in 2024. It's from 2022, and it is a tad similar to Crash Course in Romance, but definitely not the same. This was really funny, and had some hot kisses (ML has already shown chemistry with Her Private Life). I'll be looking for more dramas/movies with the FL. I could not recommend this one more, It didn't get boring, all episodes left me wanting to continue watching.

On Viki in 2024. High school, social classes, rich vs lower class, friendship, tutoring/studying after school. Not focused on romance, but friendship and character. 

On Viki in 2024. Great 12 episode drama. Young male lead (24yo) and older female lead (29yo) - male lead (29yo) as well. This drama has more depth than I thought at first, and even though it has many funny moments, its topics can be serious. CEO/chaebol wants to marry female normal friend to hide a secret. Siblings are against the marriage. Younger brother wants to stop the wedding and falls in love with his bro's friend. 

Amazon Prime original.  Outstanding series, it kept me hooked throughout the whole series.  Good development, guessing what happens next. It reminds me of Perfect Marriage Revenge but more complex. There is some romance, but it is mostly focused on standing up for oneself, and taking advantage of opportunities to do better in your life, so you don't have any regrets. I may have to watch this again in the future since it is engaging and sweet.

On Viki in 2024. AKA Don't Dare to Dream and Jiltooui Hwashin. It is from 2016 and it seems it was very popular when it came out. The characters show jealousy in relationships, and some of them seem to think that the more jealous you are, the more you love such person.  It is interesting to see 3 different titles for this Kdrama.

Healthy relationship between vlog producer and psychotherapist being disrupted by (dangerous) toxic exes. How bystanders, friends and family fail to support other's decisions in lieu of an ex' will to go back to them.

On Viki. Kdrama oldie. Supernatural - Funny - Romance - Rich man/Poor woman. It is sweet but at the same time annoying how patronizing the male character is. I really liked the female character as she is sweet, strong, independent and persistent. It has a happy ending for everyone. 

Mystery with a bit of romance. Serial killer; acting; comedy.

On Viki. 

On Viki Rakuten. Based on a book but it doesn't follow it very well. It is extremely well done, both acting and the story development. Some people may not like the ending because it doesn't end in a wedding, but it is a bit open with the potential of. In order to be happy with the development of the drama-story to the ending, we need to keep in mind why he is reborn rich. I am very happy with the ending, since it explains everything and of an open, positive future.

On Viki, a 2018 kdrama. Thriller-Comedy-Mystery. A swindler, a fighter, a hacker and a driver with the support of a prosecutor try to put criminals away and bring to light a political conspiracy during elections. It is a precursor of a more light hearted and funny Taxi Driver. I truly enjoyed it and look forward to watching season 2 that just came out in 2024.

Action and great acting with humor.

On Viki. Nothing out of the ordinary, it had funny moments, but still not a favorite.

Watch free on Viki. 15 minute episodes it is an oldie but the main character has been in some current dramas. I'd recommend it even though it is focused on romance, self-centered ceo who has never fallen in love, and he does so at first sight when he sees a normal girl who doesn't care about being popular/famous.

About live radio show at a high school, social media influencer, friendship and first loves.

On Viki. Brain surgeon wants to take revenge on the woman he thinks caused his friend to die in an accident. You feel angst when you see unfairness from judging others when you don't know the whole truth, and those who know want that woman to suffer. It starts with revenge after a best friend's death, the woman suffers from the misunderstanding, is kept in the dark on why she is being mistreated. Very sweet romance because you see kindness but try to justify your wrongdoings thinking the woman is a fake. Not many kisses at all. ML seems a good kisser even if I don't find him really attractive.
FL is a kick-a%% actress, director, and former amateur boxer. I definitely want to watch more of her stuff. Check Divine Mode movie, she is great in it.

On Viki. 2018 romance. Very sweet romance, great chemistry  between ML and FL. I wanted to watch it after watching Divine Move movie (one of the actors in it is the ML here), and it is also about a grumpy doctor (just like in Risky Romance), but here he suffers from memory loss after an accident. It is an opposites attract romance, and you could avoid some of the angst by skipping some episodes, although I am glad I watched all of it. It has many charming characters/actors-secondary ones that had me looking for their other dramas/movies.
Overall, It's a very sweet romance.

On Viki. 2014 action movie about vengeance and Baduk (Asian chess game). FL is the same as Risky Romance's. 

Kocowa production. Funny 4 episode, total 2 hours. Comedy and romance friends to lovers.  I really enjoyed this quick feel good drama. Perfect to download for a flight or trips.

On Netflix. It is a spin-off: this Gangnam rich family *Namsoon* is related to the other movie's. It is funny and it is focused on mafia, drugs and family. The main couple don't seem to have the chemistry that the couple had in the first movie, however, it is still funny and sweet at the same time.

On Viki. 16 episodes of romance, thrill, comedy, time travel, and angst for the two leads. A woman who travels to her last year of HS, and her years in college in order to change the person she loves' fate and her own. There are many comedic situations, in every episode, that make the threat of danger more bearable and to believe there is hope. Destiny and fate, and some things that are meant to happen no matter what. I had read about the grandma being the FL but in my opinion/from my perspective it is not. She had dementia/Alzheimer at the beginning of the series, and she still does at the end, however, these mental illnesses do not affect the soul and what we have experienced throughout our lives. I will need to re-watch this Kdrama because it will make you feel good.

I will say simply happy ending because the couple ends together. I don't need a wedding to think that they can be a couple. Friendship is the baseis to their relationship, and from personal experience, when your best friend is also your partner, you can bicker, and argue and still love each other. 

On Netflix. Great series about how a news announcer all of a sudden can only speak his mind after an accident with a girl. There are many sweet friendship moments between the ML and FL, and of course, the exes stress everyone out. Beautiful series, I'd re-watch it.

What starts as a quid pro quo relationship, ends up with the realization that people express love differently. It is important to follow one's heart and life path in order to be fully happy, instead of always trying to make others happy. Making it on your own is what empowers you to be yourself.

Imagine dating someone who you think is similar in background to you, and then you find out he is rich and when his mother offers money to break up you accept. Now, the guy is the one that will cling to you - and this is what the drama will focus on. The second couple in the story is already married, but is sweet and very funny. It is a light hearted drama that will make you smile. I really like that it is another drama in which the FL is older than the ML and it is great to normalize that.

It had some funny situations that made me laugh out loud, there were some romantic situations, and all with a serial killer background. I really liked the ending, which included a reflection of living and enjoying the life we choose for ourselves. It leaves a couple of things unanswered, but it is okay since it tries to focus on the appreciation and understanding of others, and not judging, nor gossiping without knowing the circumstances.

I truly enjoyed this full of thrill revenge and some action. Corruption, corporations, politics and lawyers-prosecutors, unscrupulous men who seem untouchable and they need to be brought to justice by the average man using his brains and smarts. 

This is an older series (2014) I watched on Viki. I started it and it was slow, so I stopped after the first episode. I watched it in between other dramas, because the lack of straightforward communication between the ML and FL was very frustrating. It seems that in the 2000s-2010s women could be treated that way, since I have seen it in quite a few older Kdramas. All the actors do an outstanding job, I ended up enjoying the drama after it hit the third or fourth episodes. If you can push through the first few episodes you will enjoy it. It has a bit of a mystery, and  of course, corrupt prosecutor (former boyfriend), jealousy, and betrayal.

Action Comedy and doing the right thing.

Outstanding performance, acting and soundtrack. There are a few heartbreaking-sad moments, so I would not say it is a fully happy ending one (similar to Bad and Crazy or My Name Kdrama series). Still, this is one of the best kdramas I have seen this year, and I may take short break from watching a similar one because the story/plot was so well-crafted that you will want to rewatch the whole show again.  No romance, but you won't miss it, because of the plot twists, 

Great acting, lots of funny situations, and a feel good drama overall. Great drama after the Devil Judge one that had a couple heart wrenching situations.  

Hulu-Disney. Fantasy drama. Sweet.

Hulu-Disney. Action and exciting. 2nd season is on the works.

On Viki. Very very sweet family drama. Half of the episodes is about the past, how the three siblings-friends became to be so close. I really enjoyed the characters' growth and evolution of the healing process.  I will rewatch it.

On Netflix. Engaging and rather exciting, conglomerate thriller, with scammers getting scammed,  one person controlling everything from behind the scenes, revenge, love, traitors, and some unrequited love. You need to focus and pay attention to who is who and what they do because there is a lot going on. I watched this because the female lead also the lead in Jinxed at First - and I didn't like her in that series. The ML and FL don't seem to have much of a connection because some of the kisses seem forced. 

On Disney and/or Hulu. Unique format for this series. The present plot development is full of flashbacks-memories that fill in the gaps with important information for the story and characters. It ended up being a somewhat short series, so rich in character development, and fabulous acting. I hope there is a  2nd season. 

On Viki. It is a light hearted series, about enemies to lovers meeting after 10 years. The leads have a rather childish attitude with each other, but it seems to be their modus operandi in their relationship. I enjoyed the fun moments, and even some of the heartbreaking situations of patients. 

On Netflix. I am not into medical, hospital type of shows, but after reading positive reviews I am very happy I gave this a chance. It is light hearted, it portrays life in a hospital, and many different situations. It does not show a lot of their lives outside of the hospital, so it is nice that we get glimpses of everything, or hear it from their conversations. I look forward to season 2!

On Netflix. I enjoyed everyone's acting. The development of the 5 doctor friends' life and love-life. These 5 friends meet once a week or every other week to play a song as a group of friends band. Seok-hyeong (obgyn doc) love life is one of the best to watch this season 2. As well as Ik-Jun (aka Dr.Lee the always friendly super smart doc) and Song-hwa (the only girl in the group). It took me a while to remember the names of the doctors since they have nicknames.

On Netflix. Interesting and sweet.

On Netflix. Opposites attract, law-politics-corruption, and great acting. FL and ML are in their early 40s, so they are experienced in life, and they Male lead is charming and funny, he falls for her first. Female lead has had a tough life, has trouble trusting others (men), and is older than him. They have chemistry, and you can see they care about each other. The male lead is the same as the one in Love Your Enemy's, but he is more expressive in this series. This kdrama is thrilling, and it takes a few turns. The support characters are sweet and they enrich the plot with their abilities and personality.

These 2 lawyers are not really trying to seek justice but to win cases. One wants to be able to buy a building, the other does as he is told by his boss and works for a big lawyers' firm that has links to big conglomerates/corporations. In this series, the main leads grow as people, and come to the realization that they should fight for justice instead of letting others use them. 

On Netflix. 16 gripping episodes. What a rollercoaster of emotions and events. This is NOT a school related drama (this is why I had postponed watching it), but a young man's pursuit of his dream, and how he comes across people that will support him while others will try to crush him. This is a show that can be cathartic: cleansing of your own self-pity, I cannot do anything attitude, because there is no giving up and waiting for things to happen/to go your way. This is a reminder that no matter what you may have to endure, you can succeed if you persevere, persist and keep working hard. With the support of friends, believing in each other's strengths and just being there. The main leads acting is outstanding. The male lead shows some of his best acting in this drama.

On Viki-Rakuten. Fun and exciting. I really enjoy the female lead because she always play a driven female that faces heads on all matters, but struggles a bit about her own feelings. Very sweet (short) series.

It was better than I expected, since I heard less-than positive comments. It is again about a FL that starts speaking up, standing up for herself, and the person by her side who supports her without her knowing. It is a very sweet series, and I cannot wait to rewatch it.

On Viki. It is a sweet 12 episode fantasy romance kdrama that I enjoyed after some more intense kdrama. I like the fantasy part of it, and how the main leads fall in love. 

On Netflix. It is NOT a romantic comedy. Set in 1992, in the countryside. Good portrayal of gender roles in the countryside, and what was and wasn't expected of women in the countryside. I really enjoyed how supportive the female friends are. The series focuses on women's struggles as they strive to be successful in a not very conventional business at the time. I would say it is a bit of a slice of life drama, with a positive note, and a good ending. It has a bit of romance, and a cold-case investigation to keep things moving. Expect the unexpected, but as you know from this list, it ends on a good note.

Disney Plus. In order to improve his father´s public image, a silver spoon 30-something guy is assigned to work as a cop-detective with Team 1 after solving a case. Every episode he helps Team 1 solve cases by thinking differently and using some of the money he has. We also learn more about his mom and past and how it it connected to some people around him. ML and FL learn what true friendship is like.

On Viki. This show was awesome. Had me hooked right away, and it kept me intrigued throughout. It has a splash of romance, and quite a bit of action, much intrigue and the "traditional" high school bullying and grade competition.  It has a great ending.

 On Viki. This platform has the best dramas, paying for the yearly subscription is a great deal because it allows you to download shows (in the USA paid subscription) and watch them over a period of 72 hours. You can watch shows-dramas-movies from a many Asian countries and it has a large variety of genres. I am finding myself watching most shows on Viki (they are all subtitled, not dubbed).

On Viki. It is similar to Hyde, Jekyll, Me, from the same year, but instead of two personalities, in this series he has 7 or so. More episodes, some funny scenes, and overall a great watch. The female lead's forced laugh feels a bit weird sometimes, but it is part of her charm (as inr K-dramas she appears in).  It has been fun to watch.

On Viki. Headhunters and Human Resources world, big companies vs smaller companies, righteous business vs corrupt/dirty businesswomen. Office romance, corruption, girl-boss and boy-secretary: single dad, strong female lead (CEO). It had many funny moments that had me laughing and a few sad ones regarding the past.

Set up in college, with mystery, youthhood drama, bullying, romance, and friendship topics. It is an enemies-to-lovers relationship. It is way better than I thought, and I regret postponing watching it. It was very enjoyable.

Supernatural (Xamans, witches, ghosts, etc).  It kept me hooked and wondering throughout the whole drama. I will probably watch it again. I was happy with the ending.

Netflix. Outstanding, I would watch a 3rd season.
