And the olive oil masturbation scene was a masterpiece.

The Japanese are just the best at raw feelings, dark eroticism & intricate plots in a few eps.

Love it or Hate it. Fact. Type is the most problematic character of the old-fashioned BL generation (pre 2023 ). He's dominant, selfish, impulsive, controlling and let's not gloss over the 3 instances of physical abuse . But he is near perfectly matched with Tharn who is manipulative, coercive and just as unwilling to bend as Type. (People tend to defnd him, but he's not a green flag himself) Their relationship is not a rolemodel, but it is actually a very good depiction of the facetts of a dysfunctional relationship that works for the two people involved. Everyone can find something in it they want (usually seeing how the agressive Type can be coaxed into gentleness).  And in the end: the ice cube kiss. #GulfMew have the best chemistry & Mild as P'No = <3

honestly my favourite HIStory installment. 

4 eps is way too short for the lovely story. Both MLs are stunning, no stereotipical BL roles, very decent  kissing all around.

Campy. Whacky appeal. Get the popcorn out.

Don't go in expecting high-end material. It's not slapstick either. It's just ludicrous. The directing is terrible (beautiful scenes are patchy & less impactful and erotic scenes are made unintentionnaly funny by cast wearing socks, or trying at uncovincing whip-play). But the acting is good and cast have great chemisty - except poor Dunk, who has at times too much facial expression and at crucial moments too little. There are flaws left, right and center, which could have been ironed out with a little more eye for detail, now they just make the whole spectacle more unbelievable when you try to wrap your head around that 2-men burger joint car-wreck or the killers who forget to bring their gloves on the job. 

It leaves you to wonder if all of this is intentional or not?

End of 2021 is bringing us some out of the box BL. We're leaving the uni tropes and getting some gritty stories. GunOff are off the charts, great cinematography and writing & great support cast and second ship

honesty tag: This one rates highly mainly for it's noverlty value. There's: politics, LGBT+ promotion, consent and Gun's stunning performance of pulling off diametrically opposite twins.

I love Third (portrayed masterly by Gun) and I cried not because it's that sad but because his suffering resonates in me. Delaying my rewatch because I am afraid it will not give me the same delicious suffering again.

Saint & Zee=steamy!

honesty tag: This is a bias rating. Saint& Zee are supposedly the side-couple, I can barely stand the main couple and skip all their parts, so the rating only reflects abt 50% of the drama. The plot is typical MAME: bullied scholar boy meets handsome protector. And Zee's struggle with his newfound romantic orientation is actually the most interesting thing about. That and the constant flirting.

the sexual tension in this drama is wild - the cinematography and OST have me on my knees.

considering it's by MAME it's actually a very gentle relationship. Saint and Perth are not really ship-material but it's one of my favourites that I rewatch all the time.

note to self: DO NOT - I repeat - DO NOT watch season II. The reviews are awful. Don't spoil it by watching them milk a dry cow.

Great chemistry, very suave romance. But one disgustingly fake HEA. Just skip ep 12.

So heartwarming. Minato plays the youthfulness well. The character has depth, is honest and has his own flaws. But he has so much love to give and is never cringy.

ohlala~~ Taiwanese Korean Co-production with lot's of man-handling

novel idea. very cute. vanilla. The role fits Singto to a T

saw the Anime when this was first announced - it was pretty epic to start with and well deserves its fame. Now the drama is pretty much 1:1 the anime and brilliantly done. Captivating directing and off-the-charts chemistry. Watching Jin reminds me so much of Singto's iconic teasing smiles and he found a believable way of combining the pervy, innocent, maturess, which is way hard to pull off - I am sure. And Boom really shows off his skill in this (the plot is more story-driven than romance driven later, so they can really focus on the acting rather than the snogging). He is very reminiscent of War but more mature and a fantastic character actor. That combination really does tick all my boxes. 

Amazing directing. Very well done (sensual) NC scenes. The honey was random, but pretty.

Everything about this was great. Suspense, writing, acting, unexpected turns, red-hot passion, what's real? and yet and yet....

The story is soo strong - super realistic med drama with a time-loop twist, but Deus ex Maschina at the end. So unsatisfying and the be honest, we see one off-angle kiss. Their chemistry is decent but where's the snogging?

intensly erotic & kinky, and mildly dark at times. Three things I always count on with Japanese BL. This one delivered and it was great.

Tanaka Koki is an impressive actor. The way he makes Isumi appear young and shy one second and the next he looks older and confident. I was totally captivated by the performance.

First ever uncensored 'chinese' BL costume drama (co-production with Thailand and Taiwan)
I am so used to the censored chinese BL, with longwinded plot, subtext and deep emotions that I had a hard time getting used to the frivolous and easy (superficial) skinship and kissing here. I thought I was missing this type of drama, but maybe I can savour the hinted at romance more?!

This is hilarious - I am laughing all the way to ep30. (what follows reads as sarcasm:) This is the story of 3 friends: 1 acquires a boy toy, 1 plays sugar daddy and the last developes a ginormous man-crush on a guy who cooks, raises birds, does half-naked kung fu in the rain, has a sexy motor bike, and bangages feet (did I miss one?)
I cannot believe grown men agreed to film this. XD There is no story arc. No continous story unfolds, there is no drama, no twist, no problem, just episode after episode of hilarious encounters (or if any progress can be seen, it's in the increasing degrees for casual skinship between MLs). So random - and what is going on with that ending? so abrupt. 9* for eyecandy, good skinship and hilarity. But nothing special.

cheezy. But there is just something about dancing men that's just really beautiful.

turns out sign language / deaf protagonist stories are the shit. Though a bit superficial on the other issues it's sweet. And excuse me, but that side couple make me crack up so hard! The secretary is like the male version of every office wet dream: he combines capability with the smexy hard ass attitude. And he is paired up with this doe-eyed bunny rabbit ganster. I love it.

kawaii slice of life. Slightly on the dark side. damn good chemistry and snogging.

Finally the full-length version! More fleshed out- more realistic and more heart ache all around! Yes!

The most hilarious parody of BL.

Watch for New, men in swimming trunks and some daddy-kink (the side couples are a mess in this one)

fun ride. some very good  scenes. I actually preferred the side couple in this. In the end it gets a bit cliché. BL outside the engineering faculty (although it's not like that is relevant to the story)

Phenomenal acting by War and Yin, smoking chemistry & the episode finale in ep 9 was groundbreaking. But.

If you manage to take off the rose-tinted yin/war glasses long enough to actually look at the plot you must face the fact that it's terrible: Plot holes like meteor craters, confusion, loose threads, most side characters are severly unlikeable, skin-deep, absolutely pointless or their behaviour is so inconsistent it gives you whiplash. A lot of random plot devises, half-baked hints that lead nowhere, jewellery of LOR-like might, and don't get me started on that ridiculous mafia cartell & their game-fever. 

Fort&Peat have THE most sizzling chemistry on this list to date. Sue me. The shower scene boosted this drama about 30 ranks up.

But the plot.. the plot... MAME oh MAME.

Waaay too much make up & I wish they had gone easy on the soft focus lense.

Solid 2nd season. It's a direct continuation so can be watched as a single series. This one is actually worth it for the acting more than the plot (which is sort of nonexistent).

watch for MewGulf's chemistry and Mild as P'No is still the master of hilarious facial expressions. The power play got much toned down. Type is practically tame. Delicious skinship, but the story is meh with a dash of anticlimax towards the end. #trigger warning: This drama gave me slump

I never saw the original when it came out - I tried watching it since but couldn't get into it.
This one was a bit choppy in ep 1, and I was unsure about Earth as Heng, but my-oh-my was I wrong. I didn't know he could act so hilariously. It's refreshing and I am glad we get to see this performance! I thought he was a bit typecast as quiet, silent-waters-run-deep sort of character   (especially after his performance in Moonlight Chicken). But boy does he show off his goofy side and smiles here.
I am laughing so hard, every scene cracks me up. I like that Heng as a character is immature, but so kind & charismatic that people fall in love with him anyway.
The boss'es romance is actually done very tastefully and not a cringy come on at all. Shakrit is very impressive in this role. Yes, Heng should do the decent thing and reject him outright instead of playing along, but then the story would have been over after 1 ep. So you kinda have to buy into that for the story to work,
And Mix, well. He could be playing a bed knob and I'd still watch it-

Alas, it looses traction half way in.

Expectation blown out of proportion. Not the tough love I hoped it would be.  And Vegas story line... dark and forbidden and ... sadly so disappointing. This could have been mature and 18+ but somebody forgot to edit the script into something adult. Would watch again for the grand budget & directing.

Better than most K-BL.

The dance scene is one of the most expressive and subtle things I've seen. I was quite surprised by this short series, although the story is nothing special.

really really really cute and funny and well done. <== that's the most non-descript comment on this list. But for the life of me, I have nothing more concrete to say. The actors are young in this, so I don't feel the same kind of pull as with other dramas.

I watched about half way so far. It's tricky bc the series explains a lot more details. Maybe I should have watched this first. Much better chemistry between leads but a bit confusing at times. 

Ep1: Off x Gun (Puppy Honey) - bit of a freaky friday thing.
Ep2:  (My dear loser) - the happy ending. beautiful Thai country side. They have  a very gentle dynamic.
Ep3:  (Cause you're my boy)   - -
Ep4: Pete x Kao: weirdly enchanting story. Kao being a bit bossy here suits him and Pete being obidient is very sexy. Loved the tangerine tree!
Ep5: Kongpob x Arthit. Weak story but powerful acting. and now it's really over :(

This one is actually very good. Good chemistry, good acting, solid story. But the middle and end were not my cup of tea story-wise.

The lockdown video format is super cute. Feels very natural and more like an revamped Bravo lovestory

MEOW **** 10/10 for the kitty play. That caught me off guard!

This one is colourful. Nevermind the story. Uea is beautiful. Every ounce of him exudes this and they let him pose like a model. A LOT.  Which is good because his acting is nothing special. 

P'King bringing back the guy-liner is also quite funny.

I am in this love/ hate reationship with MixEarth. I watch all their stuff, the stories are novel, romantic, more real-life with less drama, great writing/directing, relatable characters, growth & connection, and intense chemistry, but I always end up finding them a bit boring and slow. Same here. Yet I can't wait for the next one. Maybe because it doesn't tick any of my kink boxes and is just really amazing soul food.

Not bad for a Manga adaptation.

I actually loved the idea and dynamic of this. But it's a bit rushed at points and confusing. Mark was a great character.  They announced a special which would be an exptention but no airing date so far

It needs 2-3 eps to get used to and the HEA was very sudden, but I loved that they show the internal dialogue of both leads.

ps. How does he make all his suits look like PJs?

This is so sad it completely overshadows the BL-part. Watch this because it's great. Not because it's BL.

I cannot look past that unfortunate haircut.
