Gay shit I watched - everything under 100 minutes

intersex, sorta trans, sorta mlm, sorta wlw. ~80 minutes

Girl finds out she's intersex, gets forcibly transitioned (literally kicking and screaming) to male, leaves her bestie and boyfriend for a couple of years, then comes back as a guy to re-establish those relationships. I'm going to keep using she/her because it's made abundantly clear she doesn't want to be a guy.

The people who wrote this have never met a trans or intersex person because that's simply not how any of this works. If they wanted to tell a story like this, I wish they'd just framed it as a magic transformation, rather than pretending it's actually based in reality.

This hasn't managed to spotlight the actual issues intersex people face, or advocated for them in any way. A ton of unnecessary misery plus a miserable ending to really hammer home that people who exist outside the gender binary (like me <3) will never be happy or find a place to belong in this world. Thanks, I hate it.

Girl is very attracted to her butch roommate, but has to cope with her 'friends' and her own homophobia first.

It's not terrible, but it's pretty cliché. I don't like that the butch roommate is mostly eye candy without any character development, and I don't appreciate the toxic femme gay guy stereotype.

Idk it feels like one of those things that people feel they *should* watch, but don't actually enjoy.

It's crumbs of representation, but crumbs is better than nothing I guess. I was looking through the 'nonbinary main character' MDL tag, which gives a grand total of 5 results. Besides 'I'm The Most Beautiful Count' (which is a very fun show, would recommend), this was the only entry that was actually available to be watched.

I feel tired and invisible. It feels like even the crumbs aren't made for me to watch, but to educate cis people.
