1. So the dynamics are sketchy due to many factors. Also this drama got real toxic at times. There was even a grape scene and I remember dropping the drama after that scene. I eventually picked it up a few months later, since the FL was giving everything

2. But the drama was also childish at one point haha I usually hate it, but it was funny seeing the FL being the childish one for a change.

3. Speaking of the FL, I liked her general vibe. She's presented as being professional, competent, but also petty. And I love this haha I love how she's in the ML's corner. As in she's very loving, supportive and the whole nine yards. I think she was constantly showing him how much she loved him. And FLs are usually not very vocal about their love, so it's nice to see.vMy favourite scene was when she wouldn't let a phone call interrupt her from kissing the ML.

4. The ML was okay. He embodied the innocent yet cunning vibe perfectly. As usual, he is very handsome, intelligent and rich haha I want to have more regular shmegular MLs but that's never going to happen,

5. The cinematography was kinda nice. I noticed that they were trying to be creative with the framing. I liked the colour grading too! Towards the end, it became extra good

6. I was initially watching on YouTube and I had to buy a iqiyi subscription for better quality haha

7. Oh, the chemistry was kinda nice. Those kisses were everything. The ML kissed her like he meant it. Love to see it

1. Something was off, but what? the pacing? Maybe the story was not good enough?

2. Maybe the way the characters were behaving...not sure. I'm okay with unlikable characters, but these characters felt obnoxious.

3. Maybe I'm the problem and I'm applying my morality to these characters. Maybe I'm not as accepting of unlikable and messy characters. Food for thought ❗

4. Random therapy session I guess: maybe I'm so used to FLs who always have some control on their emotions/lives...so seeing the characters in this drama act so crazy felt jarring. Acting this erratic because of love is the opposite of what my type of FLs do. So maybe I need to become comfortable with FLs who are less in control? This says lot more about me, than them. I guess this is why I don't watch a lot of youth dramas? Because most FLs in those dramas are still not in control of their emotions and it exhaust me. But one of my favourite FLs is Su Zai Zai and she was crazy and erratic but also in control....so maybe I'm overanalyzing this. Ugh

5. Nevertheless, I wanted to like this drama so much. The first 2 episodes had me ecstatic....so I was deeply disappointed as the episodes went on.

6. I quite like the gorgeous main actress, the cinematography was oh so gorgeous, the editing was so good, the lighting was exquisite, the costumes and sets were so gorgeous. You can see that the budget was actually decent. Which is so rare for modern Cdramas.

7. Can't believe I finally got a beautifully shot modern Cdrama and it was trash.

Maybe one day, I'll pick it up again. Because ain't no way..it turned out this bad. I have to watch again to prove something to myself ⁉️

1. This was like the abridged version of Fight for Love. I was always curious to know how they could get married in their circumstances. And this drama answered my question.

A bit of a Mary Sue at times, but I'll allow it. I love me a FL who has a mission and will do everything to succeed. I also loved that she was struggling at times and nothing was working out. She had control but some things were just unknowable

2. I also love the ML. His character is not as fleshed out as the FL, which is a bummer. But he looks extra handsome with the earring

3. The fight scenes were not it

4. The pacing is alright. A bit slower towards the end.

5. The subtitles were so horribly fast, I had to resort to the English AI Dub. It's so bad, but I don't have any other choice.

6. The costumes are gorgeous. The shades of red being used are so beautiful

7. The chemistry was not the best, but I still added .5 points because the drama was more romantic than I expected. I was expecting 0 romance...so I was quite shocked haha So many hugs! Some decent kisses. I also loved the occasional flirty banter

8. Cool villains too!. They are not amazing or anything. But it was nice to have villains who were not cartoonish

9. The cutest baby emperor! I love that they gave him some child-like characteristics too.

1. Looks good for a mini drama. Lighting, composition, editing. Sound is strange. I think they recorded the sound on set, so it sounds a bit echo-y. I kinda dig

4. Cunning, ruthless, palace schemes and other Court shenanigans...are my least favourite subgenre. I've dropped so many dramas because of this ?

I enjoyed every single second of this drama. It fits right in my favourite subgenre " Romance with a side of sci-fi ❤️"

2. My favourite type of ML: a cute "puppy" who's going through it....and trying to get his life together. Our gorgeous ML did well too.

3. This is how I like my isekai/transmigration/rebirth dramas. Even if everything changes, I want the FL to still have some grasp on the story

4. . The chemistry was not bad. The main leads look good, but their looks don't "match". I don't know how to explain this.

I was sooooo disheartened when I dropped this. I actually remember almost crying, at my grown age. But the vibes shifted. As soon as the political schemes started, I was done.

1. The first third was sooo fun! So witty, so funny, so wholesome

2. The cinematography and editing are really good. I wasn't impressed with some of the costumes. The bronze "gongs" had the coolest costume though

3. The acting was actually good too!

4. The actual FL was robbed and this role wasn't good for her, but I guess she wanted to try something different? Her maid with psychopathic tendencies was hilarious though.

3. I don't think I've ever seen a stalker FL before so that was definitely something new.

4. I liked how there were no good people or bad people. Just different shades of grey.

4. The fight scenes were really cool!!! The director gave us some cool fight scenes in "Love Scenery", so I knew this drama would be fun too. That camp scene had me so hyped. OMG. I also liked how the camera work made the audience feel immersed in the fight scenes. This director is so cool.

7. Oh! I absolutely loved the OST. Amapiano log drums?!! Yes ma'am!

Nevertheless, I added 1 star because the ML was smiling so much. Our Little Foxy has hard a hard life and he could have become the most hardened, stoic and nonchalant man ever, but he chose kindness and warmth. His lopsided cheeky smile illustrated this so well. So it was so nice to see it often!

1. The comments said the ML was "unlikable". Usually this term is reserved for women, so I was cackling anytime they called him that. And yes, he was insufferable.

2. The FL was the typical cute and hardworking girl

3. I honestly don't know why I didn't stop this drama. Maybe it felt raw and awkward and honest? I know that period of life is full of uncertainty and passion and love and fear. So maybe the drama captured that. Not sure....

11. I think we could have had more stories from the Demon City. It looked so cool and the characters seemed so interesting.

12. Oh, I did not care for the second couple. We usually tell girls and women to not chase after boys and men who don't like them. We should teach our boys and men to not chase after girls and women who don't like them. This is one of my least favourite trope.

13. I liked the bromance between Grandfather and Mei Si. They should have cut all the second couple scenes and left only the bromance.

14. I liked the fight scene between the rat and the grandfather in episode 36. It was quite short but I liked the choreography

15. The Changxi palace characters seemed so interesting too. Shame we didn't see them as much as we could have

16. We had some many arcs and side stories and cameos. And most of them were really fun. They made this drama's world seem so much larger and full of life. When I was watching veil of shadows, I remember finding the world so claustrophobic at times. One of my favourite arc is the Herb Demon arc. It was so short but it was nice.

So apparently, I am toxic and I like handsome villains with cute dimples

1. Such a gorgeous show: the snowy quaint village looked so good.

2. But I dropped the drama twice. I wasn't sure but.... everything is so extra ? the plot, the acting, the music, the editing, the pacing. It was so tiring

3. No chemistry whatsoever. The main actress was giving us everything and the ML was giving us nothing. The man is gorgeous though

4. So I need to pick it up again...maybe

5. Ok, I gave it another chance. And in episode 16, the drama became better when the villain with dimples was introduced.

6. The FL has been in a handful of scenes with the dimpled villain and their chemistry is way too good.

7. I'm going to give the ML a chance too. I think I'm being unnecessarily harsh on him.

8. I really don't know if I should drop it again. It's an excellent drama, but something is off.

3. I guess this is one of those dramas where the 2ML has more screentime than the actual ML. I'll definitely not be having any SLS. This little boy is stressing 2 girls in the drama. Cool character though. I like male characters who aren't perfect heros nor villains. Just someone living life ...but doing it poorly haha

4. Edit: I guess I ended up having SLS. I think the 2ML was so well written, acted and directed. Truly a riveting but frustrating character. He stressed 4 girls out. I think it's because he's very risk averse and life's teaching him to be more brave. He's exceedingly kind and has integrity, but he's not nice and he's overly cautious. Truly fantastic to see how this turned out. The actor did such a good job

5. I didn't care for the main leads, so I fast forwarded the second half. It was tedious. The chemistry was not what I wanted. The business scenes were repetitive and boring.

6. I liked how the parents and other elders were nice. At least some of them

8. I'm conclusion: This was disappointing I guess. It could have been much better. Maybe if they shaved 10 episodes?

1. Li Wu was a simp, but it's alright.

2. The FL, Cen Jon, was cool enough to make up for it.

1. The premise of the whole family transmigrating together was so freaking cool!

2. The first 5 episodes were so fun! I was so happy and delighted while watching them.

3. The editing was really fun! Cinematography and costumes. Sunglasses in the Tang dynasty? Yessir!

4. But alas, the drama became tedious just after a few episodes. So I had to drop.

5. My main point of contention was The fact that some male characters were annoying. It was like in the olden sitcoms where the husband was a lazy bumbling fool. I believe men can be written with more nuance. I don't like perfect male characters, but I don't like lazy caricatures either

6. I think one day I'll try to finish the drama, because it's a shame really
