Rewatchables

Dramas so good, I need to dedicate time to watching them all over again in full.

  • Mr. Sahara & Toki-kun

    1. Mr. Sahara & Toki-kun

    Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes

    10

This drama is so sweet, funny, and surprising cautious given it's extremely taboo nature. I'm not going to say it's perfect, but it is such a worthwhile watch (and rewatch).

  • Love in the Big City

    2. Love in the Big City

    Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes

    10

Famous for a reason, this show has the feel of a revolution as it takes a powerfully honest stance on queer culture and experience. Veracity isn't it's only strength as it chooses to set up perfect opportunities for tropes and then subverts the expectation to follow through.

  • Dangerous Romance

    3. Dangerous Romance

    Thai Drama - 2023, 12 episodes

    10

My personal favorite drama, probably of all time. While this show plays into common thai bl troupes, it's delivery is right up my alley and extremely compelling. The performances are honestly so spellbinding that I find myself always wanted to go back to this series when I'm in the mood for a rewatch.

  • About Youth

    4. About Youth

    Taiwanese Drama - 2022, 8 episodes

    9.0

Balancing a sweet youthful story with stunning emotional moments and true depth is no easy task, but About Youth makes a lovely attempt. This show is so comforting, and it's incredibly score only assists that fact as it gives me nostalgia for experiences of men completely different from myself.

  • Like in the Movies

    5. Like in the Movies

    Filipino Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

    9.0

A classic rom-com plot, two sympathetic and interesting characters, and many cheesy scenes make Gaya Sa Pelikula feel like an early 2010s movie. I believe this is the intended effect, given the concept for the show, and man does it succeed in establishing itself as a consumable and bubbly watch.

  • Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island

    6. Secrets Happened on the Litchi Island

    Chinese Drama - 2025, 7 episodes

    10

I know I've mentioned nostalgia already, but wow this show has a magical sort of feel to it. The scenery, acting performances, score, and plot all intertwine perfectly to construct the perfect charm to capture the audience and keep them coming back for more.

  • Destiny Seeker

    7. Destiny Seeker

    Thai Drama - 2023, 10 episodes

    8.0

Is this show high quality and incredibly unique? No. Not in the slightest, honestly. But! It is reminiscent of the early days of Thai bl, and has gotten me through more sick days than I care to mention. When a show becomes as much of a go-to as Destiny Seeker has for me, you know it's something special.

  • Kissable Lips

    8. Kissable Lips

    Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes

    8.5

This is not a fair drama for me to add, but I have free will so haha. Kissable Lips was the first truly gay drama I ever watched, that focused on a queer relationship and even *gasp* (albeit minorly) mentioned homophobia and the existence of struggle. Its plot is supernatural and insane, its ending is lackluster, and I've watched it all the way through 4 times. Sentimentality is a powerful thing, and I'm a victim to the wiles of this monstrous (imo) masterpiece.

  • My Personal Weatherman

    9. My Personal Weatherman

    Japanese Drama - 2023, 8 episodes

    10

The two words that come to mind when I think of this series are: "completely" and "insane". The sugar-baby-only-sleep-together-when-it-rains thing? Not normal. So, not incredibly cliche either! This plot is so magically consumable despite it's oddities, and when I'm in the mood for a pick me up, it always comes to mind
