Top 10 favorite dramas of all time
It was hard picking a top 10 because there are so many incredible dramas. I picked it based on not only how well executed the drama was, but how likely I’d be to rewatch and how much the drama stayed with me long after it was over.

1. The Glory
Korean Drama - 2022, 8 episodes
Kim Eun Sook, you icon. The best drama I’ve ever seen period. It’s the perfect example of a flawless drama. The pacing, the acting, the story, plot, actions everything perfectly cohesive. There’s nothing that happens “just because.” There’s no stone left unturned or loose threads. This shouldn’t be anyone’s first Korean drama because the standard will be too high because there’s no other revenge drama like this one. (note this also includes part two)

2. Welcome to Samdal-ri
Korean Drama - 2023, 16 episodes
This is a drama for REAL lovers and yearners only. That’s the only way to even being to comprehend the absolutely heart rending love of our Yong Pil. Shin Hae Sun is one of the best actress of all time so her with Kim Mi Kyung, Shin Dong Mi and Ji Chang Wook is literally bananas. I love everything about this drama (except Yong Pil’s dad who I still haven’t forgiven). Sam Dal’s family, all the people in her hometown, the beautiful scenery, the narrative focus on loving oneself and allowing love despite any obstacles. One of my favorite dramas to date and I’ll never forget it.

3. My Mister
Korean Drama - 2018, 16 episodes
IU’s best performance to date. The way she gave us a prickly, determined, lonely individual Ji A was perfection. Lee Sun Kyun was magnificent. The story of two incredibly lonely individuals learning to hold onto others again was beyond.
-
4. Because This Is My First Life
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
A romance that doesn’t rely on pointless miscommunications to get from point A to be point B. The relationships with all three of our couples are well thought out and refreshing because you can understand each individuals motivations. On top of that, it has one the best kiss scenes of any drama which is always a plus.

5. Stranger
Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes
The last of the dramas that would be a perfect 10 from me. Director An Gil Ho shines again in this incredible mystery. The episodes zip by as we unravel layer upon layer of corruption, greed and pain.

6. Secret Garden
Korean Drama - 2010, 20 episodes
Completely different from any other drama on this list but it’s my list so I’m ranking as I see fit. Secret Garden has to be in the top 10 because it’s one of the very few dramas that I could watch straight through no skips, beginning to end and still enjoy just as much as the first time. The iconic writer, Kim Eun Sook’s second drama in my top 10 as well. All I can say is that she puts her pen to paper and changes lives.

7. Daily Dose of Sunshine
Korean Drama - 2023, 12 episodes
This drama had me cry for 40 days and 40 nights over Roh Jae Won’s character and then Park Bo Young came and finished me off. Would recommend this drama any day.
-
8. Guardian: The Lonely and Great God
Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes
To absolutely no one‘s surprise, a third entry from my favorite drama writer, Kim Eun Sook. Goblin is an iconic drama for a reason. It’s also exactly what it says it is, a sad love story. Gong Yoo and Kim Go Eun’s chemisty is absolutely bananas, the story of our Kim Shin’s creation is great and Sunny’s and Wang Yeo’s romance tears you apart (in a good way). What else could a person want?

9. Our Unwritten Seoul
Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes
A story that stayed with me. Learning to love, learning to trust, learning that sometimes you must learn to how to accept love as well
-
10. Love in the Big City
Korean Drama - 2024, 8 episodes
Watch this and then you may speak to me about pain and heartbreak. Until then, I will take no further comments or questions. However, by chance, if you have the writer’s email address, please send it to me so I can send a strongly worded email asking for reparations for the hurt I endured.
