Any kind of friendships, family members dynamics, other unusual non-romantic relationships that does NOT turn romantic at any point in the story, is unambiguous and is a focus in the show... It doesn't have to be the central focus, the drama can also be a romance or anything else. The only requirement is that these stories depict at least one of what is - according to you - a very strong, good, interesting and relatively realistic platonic relationship.
