BL living rent free in my mind
This rabbit hole goes deep... Tracking shows I have watched (or rage quit due to various whims) and my thoughts.

101. Your Dear Daddy
Thai Drama - 2026, 8 episodes
Short, but messy - in that they have too much plot and not enough time to fully flesh out things. It's also a bit of a bait/switch as the first ep is hot and heavy, but then the rest of the series is super PG-13 and with that kind of title, you really expect a whole lot more. Actors have good chemistry though, so it's still worth a skim watch.

102. Fake Fact Lips
Japanese Drama - 2026, 9 episodes
One of my fave JBLs so far in 2026. This has a really fantastic set-up and does what JBL does best - delves into the small and subtle observations of character interactions so that you can pick up on the feelings and all of the implied emotions. It's a show don't tell way of storytelling that I love. Of course boys are boys and suck at actually talking things out, but when they do... it's so good!!!

103. Wishing upon the Shooting Stars
Taiwanese Drama - 2026, 12 episodes

104. Love You Teacher
Thai Drama - 2026, 10 episodes
I will admit to some misgivings before starting this due to the plot synopsis, but this has a lot of heart and is a feel-good BL with some teary scenes thrown in. Comes across slightly preachy in a few places, but we need a reminder that there are good people in this world, and that real love means that you do have to take the good with the bad and treasure what you have. I was lucky to attend the final ep in Thailand and it was a fun way to wrap up watching.

105. The Sun from Another Star
Thai Drama - 2026, 8 episodes
LOVED this. I will hold this up as an example of how to adapt an entire book into 8 x episodes while still adding to the plot. I adored so much of this, and will offer flowers to the whole team for managing to keep so many small details from the novel and for honouring the spirit of the characters. Arthit and Dao are my favourite pairing of the whole series and Ngern and Oat nailed their portrayal (and have absolutely FIRE chemistry).

106. Lately, It's Winter Season
Thai Drama - 2026, 8 episodes

107. Love upon a Time
Thai Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
This took about 2 episodes to settle into its groove, but it was a great adaptation of the book. The period setting was really gorgeous and I enjoyed the entire series start to finish. Cried buckets in the last episodes (of course), and have added both pairs of actors into my watch list for the future.

109. Deep In
Chinese Drama - 2026, 12 episodes

110. To My Shore
Chinese Drama - 2025, 15 episodes

111. The Prosecutor's Proposal
Korean Drama - 2026, 10 episodes
-
112. Sammy's Children's Day
Hong Kong Drama - 2026, 9 episodes
Lush and colourful - this is a delight to the eyes and a series I had to watch slowly as it had a lot of layers and was one I wanted to savour. I am hoping for a second series as this does only cover about the first third of the novel (and I really want more!). But this is a fantastic watch and highly recommended.
