Glad I Watched It Once-Japanese

1. Promise Cinderella
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
Mean girl gets off with a scolding for sabotage, tasering, kidnapping, aiding in the ruining of a marriage, blackmail, causing bodily harm, slander, and a multitude of other crimes...NOPE.
That character's entire part in this show aside, it was a mix of coming of age, first loves, old wounds, and breaking social barriers.
I won't watch this again, but I not sorry I watched it this once. -
2. Dragon Zakura Season 2
Japanese Drama - 2021, 10 episodes
It was a nice story about what you can accomplish when you have people around you who encourage and allow you to be the best version of yourself. It also shows it's never a failure if you have learned from it and then applied that knowledge to what comes next.
The kids did great. I've watch a few series with the ML from this one...while he's a handsome giant of a man, I find his oration to be quite stiff and abrupt.. During his scenes, I couldn't for one minute let myself fall into the story like a participant because his delivery kept dragging me out. Like happily daydreaming and having someone perpetually blow up lunch bags and then pop them in your ear.
I enjoyed it one time through, the story wasn't awful, but some of the people were decidedly awful.

3. Okura: Meikyu Iri Jiken Sosa
Japanese Drama - 2024, 11 episodes
Also known as Okura: Cold case investigations on Netflix. I enjoyed this series and am hoping for a second season as there's lots of room for it.
Casting was fantastic! What a motley crew they are, again bringing together the vets and the rookies. The writing, for the most part was pretty intelligent...even with the few characters that acted like buffoons.
There isn't enough draw for me to watch it again, but I'm completely content with spending the time to watch it once.
