Propaganda Korean Dramas (Read Description)

I am too tired of so many beautiful Chinese dramas being labeled as propaganda for the most absurd and ridiculous reasons ever, and have free time right now. So I thought of this amazing idea of labeling Korean dramas as propaganda for the same reasons as they do for Chinese dramas

Please note that this list is just a response to those ridiculous people who label any and everything by China as propaganda. These are not my actual thoughts for the mentioned dramas

Also, for those who would click on MY list and try to debate with me on how China is bad for xyz reasons or try to shove down their political propaganda down my throat, I have only one thing to say. CRY HARDER B*TCHES. I don't care about whatever nonsensical garbage anyone will sprout as it will be an evidence to me on how rampant stupidity and low IQ is.

I am still adding to the list.

  • When Life Gives You Tangerines

    1. When Life Gives You Tangerines

    Korean Drama - 2025, 16 episodes

Since this show is a tribute drama, it is natural to label it high level propaganda. Period. (This was hard as I know this will be going into the best shows I have ever watched ngl, but they do this every time there is a masterpiece family or slice of life cdrama)

  • Mr. Sunshine

    2. Mr. Sunshine

    Korean Drama - 2018, 24 episodes

Dramas set in this era are naturally propaganda dramas. Full of love for the nation and freedom from the Japanese. Japanese are portrayed as villains every time. Full fledged propaganda (another hard to include show as I am aware of the sufferings of Koreans and Chinese during this period, but I have seen this accusation being thrown countless times by people towards C-dramas set in this era because the Japanese are always portrayed as evil and people are patriotic. The hatred I have for people that have 0 knowledge of the crimes committed by the Japanese and still having the audacity to label the sufferings of people as propaganda is immense.)

  • Hwang Jin Yi

    3. Hwang Jin Yi

    Korean Drama - 2006, 24 episodes

Trying to depict their culture in positive light? This is so a propaganda drama. (if this looks too much to you, countless c-dramas, both modern and period, have been labeled propaganda because they depicted their arts and cultures. Meet Yourself, A Dream of Splendor, Flourished Peony, The Best Thing are a few that come to my mind where I recently read comments calling them propaganda dramas just because arts and culture of China were depicted.)

    Korean Drama - 2015, 20 episodes

Set in the 80s and talking about life back then? People are not poor enough. Definitely a propaganda drama by the government.

    Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes

    9.5

Again, set in the 90s, talks about life in S.Korea back then. No depictions of widespread poverty. 100% propaganda.

    Korean Drama - 2013, 21 episodes

    9.5

Yet again, a 90s slice of life kdrama that gives an insight of life back then without the depictions of widespread poverty. Propaganda drama

  • Chicago Typewriter

    7. Chicago Typewriter

    Korean Drama - 2017, 16 episodes

Shows patriotic people and their sacrifices for the nation. Full fledged propaganda.

  • My Dearest

    8. My Dearest

    Korean Drama - 2023, 10 episodes

Characters become patriotic and do things for their nation. If this is not propaganda, then I don't know what is.

  • Empress Ki

    9. Empress Ki

    Korean Drama - 2013, 51 episodes

Because they tried to show how great Korea is by making a story about a woman that became an empress in a foreign land. Also because she speaks for Goryeo and drama portrays Koreans in a positive light. The Korean king is shown as smarter and powerful than a Mongol emperor, and that emperor has achieved everything due to his Korean wife. High level propaganda.

  • Descendants of the Sun

    10. Descendants of the Sun

    Korean Drama - 2016, 16 episodes

    4.0

Koreans saving another country's people? Save your own nation first, then think about saving anyone else. Laughable propaganda drama XD (never really thought this way, but I dislike it for various other reasons)

  • Crash Landing on You

    11. Crash Landing on You

    Korean Drama - 2019, 16 episodes

    6.5

Because there is a lot of S.Korea glorification and N.Koreans are depicted as inferior. Every woman loves S.Korean beauty products.

  • Undercover High School

    12. Undercover High School

    Korean Drama - 2025, 12 episodes

Showing that the Chinese are crazy after Korean artefacts and are engaging in illegal purchasing of these artefacts? Trying too hard to look like a superior culture HAHAHA!!! (this accusation I believe in because no way would Chinese be dying to get Korean artefacts)
