I was really looking forward to this "No Gain No Love" Spin-Off as I loved that second lead couple -their chemistry is adorable- but this short miniseries was disappointing.
The main actors are very talented and it's nice seeing them play together again but the transmigration fantasy context (inside a book) wasn't something I was particularly interested in. It was well-made but that was it. The only thing I really enjoyed was the fun BTS compilation after the final credits.
104. Drunken to Love You

Taiwanese Drama - 2011, 30 episodes

Started & DROPPED (episode 22/30) in October.
I couldn't go on. This Taiwanese series from 2011 has aged too much for me. Even the cinematography felt dated.

The main leads were good, the main couple had great chemistry and the first few episodes were interesting but then the unnecessary (and badly developed) additional sidestories resulted in the main plot faltering in the second half. Also, most of the comedic scenes were quite childish/stupid and overplayed.
This series could/should have been shorter and smarter.
105. Where Your Eyes Linger

Korean Drama - 2020, 8 episodes

This BL series was SO good and SO well acted by the lead actors.
The cinematography (the lighting and colours, especially) and the angst (unsaid words, looks, touch...) were top-notch.
I liked how the story was very focused but found it way too short (1hr 20min). Some scenes between the 2 main leads could have been added for character build-up -these talented actors' chemistry deserved more scenes together- and the end could also have been better developed/less rushed.
PS: The comic relief of the girl's mother was a nice welcome touch.

A very cute, but WAY TOO short, mini Kdrama BL with 2 talented young actors. Such a sweet little gem !

I was so excited to start this Cdrama as I usually love a slow burn romance. Unfortunately, this series was quite disappointing.

It started well: good acting, good premise, good pace.
Certainly cute at the beginning, the constant misunderstandings between the 2 MLs became excessive. This mainly ruined the overall pace of the show as the episodes started to get quite repetitive, overly slow and, sadly, uninteresting. And when the 2 MLs finally get together, they keep failing at communicating properly (I don't remember them once really talking honestly to each other). Regrettably, from then on, the unnecessary subplots didn't add any value to the rest of their story.
This series could have been smartly wrap up in 12 episodes which would have been way better.

For some reason, as the show progressed, I also started to appreciate the endearing ML more and the FL (a lot) less. She had the most unnerving attitude towards the ML during the whole drama.
Am I the only one who thought they had barely anything in common ? At some point, I even found the SECOND main couple much more interesting and emotionally connected as their characters developped.

By the way, the FL's mother kept getting on my nerves until the very end. Such an overbearing and borderline inappropriate character !

Despite the good performance of the cast (against such a weak plot), I personally thought this series lacked the charm of other similar Cdramas like "Hidden Love", "When I Fly Towards You", "My Secret" and "Wait, My Youth".

This was my very 1st Filippino drama... and, OMG, that was so ridiculous and superficial ! I can't believe we're still doing such clichéd shows in 2024 ! No wonder the world's population is getting dumber !
The trailer seemed fun but the overall plot was just a lot of emptiness. I felt bad for the actors who had nothing to work on.
