Chinese Period Dramas I Love And Recommend

This list has all the period dramas: from historical dramas (up until the end of republican era), to xianxia, wuxia, xuanhan and other fantasy period dramas. In case the drama is mix of contemporary and period theme, it will be found here only if more than 50% of episodes are set in period setting. If it is 50-50 modern and period, it will be included in both this list and my list for contemporary shows. 

The list is arranged in order of most loved to liked shows. Please note that the some of the high ranking shows can be those with some plot holes or have illogical stuff happening at times. But they are ranked this high due to the enjoyment factor.
