怪談新耳袋 Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro
This franchise was inspired by Shin Mimibukuro (新耳袋), a collection of 100 ghost stories first published by FUSOSHA Publishing in 1990.
There have been many adaptations over the years, with new material and changes to the 100 original stories. The first known video adaptation was Kaidan Shin Mimibukuro: Kihara Hirokatsu no Bijo Kaidan (新耳袋・木原浩勝の美女怪談), which is not yet added to MDL. It was a 1-hour-40-minute-long movie filmed in the interview style format, released on July 24, 2002, featuring the author of the book Kihara Hirokatsu (木原浩勝) telling 5 ghost stories to actress Miwa Hitomi (三輪ひとみ). Recordings of the segments can be found on nicovideo.
