I fully admit that the only reason I watched this entire thing was to see what happened when Tutor and Yim's characters finally made out, and it was worth it. They are gorgeous together, but I wish the story was enjoyable enough for me to want to watch it again.

This was awkward as hell. I didn't care for the music, but only because it isn't my style. The sound mixing was not good. The actors are blindingly lily-white porcelain, and the makeup should probably have tried to give their faces some shape instead of ivory matte with pretty pink lipstick.

There were some funny moments, but it doesn't make up for the way the story felt pieced together and almost out of order sometimes.

Incredibly cute story. Lovely acting, even though the characters were sometimes in need of a scolding. This wasn't a BL, but it was a very sweet and realistic feeling story about what it's like to just love someone, so much, that it doesn't matter what they look like or if it makes your family uncomfortable -- you just need them. You just love them.

I have given this the full ten stars; I really enjoyed the story, and I think the actors are extremely good in this series. I particularly loved the sincere way that He Yan was always re-centered as a powerful woman, and that the end of the story did not include her having to sacrifice her identity or glory in any way.

Aside from the fact that this has a lower budget so the wigs, etc are not as good as big-budget productions, this is quite good. I have hopes that this will be an enjoyable and believable drama that is also a BL.

This is a partial rewatch; I had gotten 27 episodes in last year but put it down, so I've started from the beginning.

At about episode 30-31 it has got ... slow as shit, and it feels like the plot fell into a ditch for a little bit. It has had 'series ending' feels but it's too soon for that, so it's obviously not going to stay okay and I don't like the ominous knowledge that it will certainly be very dramatic and upsetting again for many episodes before it actually reaches episode 40.

Since I am watching Khemjira as it airs, I am spoiled by how well researched and carefully constructed and exquisitely acted a show like this could be. This one is obviously not as serious, but the sound mixing is kind of crap (like a lot of the earlier GMMTV shows, I'm finding), and I don't know if I like the story enough to watch the whole thing.

But it's only four episodes and I think I have enough staying power to make it. I am curious if the next series after this one is improved.
