2026 Dramas releases I watched | My Top & Flops |
I will add here all the shows I’ve watched that were released in 2026.
This is also for me, to summarize my impressions. Some of them already have reviews from me, but for the others I’ll just leave a simple comment here. I try to give many shows a chance, but I often stop after two episodes if it doesn’t suit me.
I put together a rough ranking, though it's far from definitive. I tend to judge each drama on its own terms: what was it trying to achieve, and did it succeed within its own genre? I don't compare one project directly to another.
Beyond that, I also ask myself a few simple questions.
Which drama moved me the most?Which one stayed with me emotionally?

1. Can This Love Be Translated?
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
The most accomplished drama so far.. 15.03.20026 overall among everything I’ve watched, in my opinion. Bravo to the director. His universe always feels close to Hotel del Luna. I think he really has his own signature style. The whole cast is wonderful. I’ve left a detailed review for this drama.

2. The WONDERfools
Korean Drama - 2026, 8 episodes
One of the strongest Korean projects I've watched so far this year 2026 (as of July). I've posted a full review if you want my complete thought
-
3. Generation to Generation
Chinese Drama - 2026, 37 episodes
I’ve already left a very detailed review about this drama, along with many comments.
-
4. Affinity
Chinese Drama - 2026, 40 episodes
The best mini-series of the year and a discovery of a very promising actor. I also wrote a review about it.
-
5. Never-Ending Summer
Chinese Drama - 2026, 29 episodes
Excellent chemistry between the main couple, with an equally charming secondary couple. I've already posted a more detailed review.
-
6. Love Story in the 1970s
Chinese Drama - 2026, 29 episodes
When Life Gives You Tangerines mood (made in China)… the best Chinese contemporary series of the year so far. I’ll write a detailed review soon since I haven’t finished it yet.
-
7. Love between Lines
Chinese Drama - 2026, 28 episodes
The simplest, brightest, and most visually beautiful series of the year. (I left a review.)
-
8. Dazzling
Chinese Drama - 2026, 30 episodes
So far, I'm on episode 22, and this little drama has been a lovely surprise. Its atmosphere, the friendships, and even the casting clearly echo When I Fly Towards You, aiming for that same gentle, slice-of-life warmth (it never comes close to reaching its level.) It also brings to mind Meet Yourself, although that's a much higher bar. For me, Meet Yourself remains one of the most complete dramas when it comes to its ensemble of characters, its atmosphere, its beautifully written dialogue, and the natural, understated performances. (SOL genre)
It doesn't reach the same depth, though. The characters—especially the female lead, her mother, and most of the supporting cast—remain rather underwritten. Still, the main couple is incredibly charming, and the male lead is a delight to watch. He's improved tremendously over the past two years, and his screen presence has become increasingly captivating.
All in all, it's a very endearing drama, and I'm happily continuing.

9. Ashes to Crown
Chinese Drama - 2026, 24 episodes
I haven't finished it yet. Needless to say, Yi Ran is the reason I pressed play in the first place, and I remain a firm believer in his talent. He does what he can with the material, and his supporting role is genuinely interesting—but it remains, unfortunately, a supporting role.
This is unmistakably the female lead's showcase. The writing is built around her, and to her credit, she carries it ok. Still, it's hard not to feel that the male lead deserved far more room to develop his own arc. The premise practically begged for it, especially considering how much Yi Ran could have brought to the character.
The chemistry works well enough, but it feels more carefully engineered than naturally born. Everything seems designed to highlight the actress's strengths, while the supporting cast—including Yi Ran—provides a solid foundation around her.
I'll finish it when I'm in the right mood. Then I'll be able to give it a proper final verdict. Im on ep15

10. Pursuit of Jade
Chinese Drama - 2026, 40 episodes
The biggest production of the year, but mainly serving the stars and their fandom.
-
11. To My Beloved Thief
Korean Drama - 2026, 16 episodes
Promising actors and a promising narrative, but the couple doesn’t really work. A detailed review will come soon. I’ve already left a lot of comments on this drama lol.
-
12. How to Train Your Killer
Chinese Drama - 2026, 30 episodes
A small-budget series that still holds up well. I watched it until the end with great interest.
-
13. Sold Out on You
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
A really great cast, especially since I absolutely love Ahn Hyo Seop—he's one of my favorite actors. I was discovering the female lead for the first time, and she was very likable in her role. The rest of the cast was equally charming, especially the older generation.
That said, the story and plot were almost completely missing, even the usual clichés. I still have the last two episodes left to watch... The casting and visual style seemed to be trying to recreate the magic of Business Proposal—the couple had a very similar, But from the middle of the drama onward, it completely lost that charm and never managed to recapture the same appeal.
-
14. The First Jasmine
Chinese Drama - 2026, 40 episodes
I don't know... I stopped at episode 17. Maybe I'll pick it up again, even though I really like the cast. It's a lineup of top-tier stars. But Bai Lu's romantic acting feels less and less genuine to me. Maybe she needs to take on different kinds of projects to recharge?
-
15. Boyfriend on Demand
Korean Drama - 2026, 10 episodes
Boyfriend on Demand was an okay watch, but nothing more. The premise is interesting, yet the execution never quite convinced me. As for the male lead, he still strikes me as remarkably stiff, with a rather limited emotional range.
-
16. Soft Hearted God
Chinese Drama - 2026, 28 episodes
Well, well... I honestly don't remember the plot at all, but I do remember finishing it, which is actually a pretty good sign! ? I was clearly going through this actor's filmography at the time, and his mini-series were quite enjoyable.
-
17. Turbulent Love
Chinese Drama - 2026, 20 episodes
A complete disaster story . What on earth is this storyline? And to top it all off, the female lead is just as terrible at acting as she is beautiful. The male lead, on the other hand, delivers a great performance and is incredibly charismatic. He deserves much better projects than this.
-
18. Perfect Crown
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
A big-budget production that looks like a Vogue cover shoot. Too bad they forgot to include a story—but at least I like the lead couple.
-
19. How Dare You!?
Chinese Drama - 2026, 32 episodes
Dropped 18 -The second biggest production of the year, purely commercial or idol drama. Like Jade, the couple works wonderfully—and that’s about it. Pure entertainment. I dropped it after 18 episodes. Too banal.
-
20. Love Has Fireworks
Chinese Drama - 2026, 36 episodes
-
21. About Love
Chinese Drama - 2026, 26 episodes
ep 2 -I admit this one is more psychologically focused and not really for the general public.
Liu Yu Ning clearly wanted to try something less commercial, which is commendable!! .
Some of the themes discussed are also quite interesting. Even though the subject doesn’t really move me emotionally, I was still eagerly waiting for this drama. However,
I dislike the way the female character is written. There isn’t a single character I can truly empathize with, and if there’s no empathy between the audience and the characters, then it simply doesn’t work for me.
-
22. Still Shining
Korean Drama - 2026, 10 episodes
I dropped it after episode 2. Maybe it develops later, but I didn’t find a reason to keep watching.
Park Jin Young, who was convincing in Seoul (largely thanks to the actress), feels way too static here and seems to be repeating the same role. Maybe I’m wrong, but the story also feels like it’s missing something important.
Overall, it just didn’t emotionally hook me -
23. Our Universe
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
on 7ep -The start was too strong for what is supposed to be a light romantic comedy—and then it dramatically falls off a cliff with the appearance of the second male lead and that whole arc. Still, I’ll watch until the end because there’s something quite likable about the couple, even if they still lack some strong acting qualities.
-
24. My Royal Nemesis
Korean Drama - 2026, 14 episodes
My Royal Nemesis feels like another familiar déjà vu. The cast is solid, but it never quite commits to anything—neither funny enough, nor moving enough, nor romantic enough, nor sharp enough in its writing. 5 episodes in, and I've quietly taken my leave. Ep 1 and 2 good
-
25. See You at Work Tomorrow!
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
-
26. No Tail to Tell
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
Drop et - 8ep Here as well, I feel that the woman clearly carries the project, and she wasn’t really able to nuance her character or the issues she portrays. The couple doesn’t work very well either. The male lead seems to be there mainly to support the film’s star, and there is clearly an imbalance.
-
27. Spring Fever
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
dropped -A small series, nothing special. Too banal for me to really get hooked. SML clearly had the potential to shine more, but she was poorly written.
-
28. In Your Radiant Season
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
Dropped : In principle, I really like the actress, but here I didn’t like the actor at all. I couldn’t get past episode 1—I’m not sure why.
-
29. My Page in the 90s
Chinese Drama - 2026, 24 episodes
drop 4 There was nothing that could keep me invested in this project. It was clearly planned as a commercial move after the actor’s first success—the marketing idea was obviously to ride on his popularity in order to make this rather bland project work and strengthen his fanbase. But for me, it simply doesn’t work
-
30. Love Phobia
Korean Drama - 2026, 8 episodes
drop 2 Not very strong + not for me.
-
31. Positively Yours
Korean Drama - 2026, 12 episodes
drop 2 Oh dear… I was hoping for a light comedy to relax, but once again it’s a miss for me. Here they’re clearly following the current trend: the birth rate topic! But with faces as stiff as plastic and cardboard… Sorry, but this one will be without me.
-
32. Veil of Shadows
Chinese Drama - 2026, 29 episodes
Stopped after the first episode. Despite the beautiful visuals, the story and acting felt too basic
-
33. Twin Flames in Daybreak
Chinese Drama - 2026, 30 episodes
Not bad for a mini-series category. The chemistry works better here with the same leads as in "Yu Jun Du Zhang Huan". The acting is a bit mixed, but there's something genuinely enjoyable about it. Still, too much cosmetic surgery really limits facial expressions for ML... FL Passable
