Born in China, Chun Siu Lei was a Hong Kong actress who worked in nearly 80 films, many Cantonese Opera from 1949-1960. Chun learned kung fu from the Northern School. After retiring from acting she eventually settled in San Francisco, California, USA and lived in Chinatown. Chun Siu Lei had been a devout Christian since her baptism in 1958, actively participating in the activities of the Jimbaran Presbyterian Church, enthusiastically serving the public in the Chinese community, and also actively performing in various fundraising activities, and composing many Gospel Cantonese songs to preach. On October 12, 2005, she died of cancer in San Francisco, USA, on the tenth day of the 10th month of the ninth month of the lunar calendar.
