He graduated from Taipei Municipal Chenggong High School (臺北市立成功高級中學) and the Department of Theatre Arts at National Taiwan University of Arts (國立臺北藝術大學). Huang married actress Tsai Hsuan Yen (蔡亘晏) in 2012, and they have a daughter, also born in 2012.
