Choi Hyun Joo is a South Korean musical actress. She graduated from Ewha Womans University with a bachelor's degree in Vocal Performance and later obtained a master's degree in Performing Arts/Musical from Hongik University. She made her debut in 2005 as part of the Shiki Theater Company of Japan with a lead role in the Japanese version of "The Phantom of the Opera". She then appeared in "Jesus Christ Superstar", "Wicked" and "Beauty of the Beast" before returning to South Korea in 2009. She married actor Ahn Jae Wook in 2015 and took a long break from musical theater to focus on her family. In 2018, she briefly returned with a role in "Empress Myeongseong" and went into another hiatus until 2022 when she appeared in "King Arthur".
