She first appeared on TV in 1988 when KBS's "Viva Youth" (비바청춘) went to her school to record an episode of the popular program. She then debuted in 1990 after winning the grand prize at the KBS Comedy Talent Contest.
In 1991, she moved to SBS and was one network's most popular comedians winning the Female Comedy Acting Award at the 1991 Baeksang Arts Awards.
In 2009, she won the Grand Prize in the Variety category at the MBC Entertainment Awards.
She is represented by TN Entertainment Co. (티엔엔터테인먼트) and frequently appears as a host at the home shopping network and on several programs at CTS (Christian Television).
