She entered the industry as a trainee for SM Entertainment in 2003, but by early 2010, the agency had still not approved her debut as a solo artist or as part of a girl group. So, she decided to move to New York to continue her education and opted to stop being an idol in 2014.
She began producing records in 2017 with RED VELVET's "Psycho" and later she worked with AESPA, TWICE, LE SSERAFIM, and many others. She had her international breakthrough in 2025 after providing the singing voice for Rumi and writing several of the songs for the Netflix movie "KPop Demon Hunters". She made her solo debut in October 2025 with the single "In Another World".
