  • Gender: Female
  • Born: January 18, 1994

Gong Min Ji, known professionally as Minzy, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and member of 2NE1 (투애니원). She did not attend high school but later passed the High School Graduation Certification Examination. She then obtained a bachelor's degree in Theology from Baekseok University.

She participated in many dance contests and competitions, winning various awards. One of her videos went viral online, and she was recruited by YG Entertainment (YG엔터테인먼트) when she was in sixth grade.

She made her debut in March 2009 as 2NE1's main dancer, lead vocalist, lead rapper and maknae with the digital single "Lollipop", recorded alongside BIGBANG members as a promotion campaign for a cellphone by LG. Their first official EP, "2NE1", was released in May of that year, and the lead single, "Fire", became an instant hit, and the group's popularity increased. They became known for their musical experimentation, fashion, and stage presence and they are recognized for expanding girl group styles in the South Korean music industry. They also were the first girl group to have a world tour and held concerts in several countries.

However, the group went on hiatus in early 2014 as all members began focusing on their individual activities. Then, in April 2016, she announced her departure from the agency and the group as she wanted to become a solo artist. 2NE1 will eventually disband 7 months later.

She signed with The Music Works and made her debut as a solo artist in April 2017 with the mini-album "Minzy Work 01. Uno". She also began participating in variety shows and providing OSTs for a few dramas.

She sued The Music Works, looking to terminate her contract, and the issue was finally settled in April 2020 when she left the company. She created her own label, MZ Entertainment (MZ엔터테인먼트), in October of that year, and a few weeks later, she signed with Viva Entertainment to launch her career as a singer in the Philippines. She debuted there with the Tagalog version of her single "Lovely" in November 2020.

In July 2024, she reunited with the other members to celebrate their 15th anniversary and performed in music shows and held several concerts. YG announced that the concerts will continue in 2025 as they will remain active for the time being.
