He started his career as a writer in KBS and SBS while in college, and then progressed as a journalist in 1993 as a PD in the first public recruitment of Daekyo Broadcasting. Then he moved to MBN where he worked as a reporter and anchor at the Ministry of Economy.
In 2000 at the age of 33, he became the youngest reporter to visit the Blue House during the time of the People's Government.
