After graduating from Pui Ching Middle School in Macau, he moved to Hong Kong to work as a model. In 1986, he entered the entertainment industry through the film "Escape from Coral Cove." In 1992, he joined TVB, which he left in 1996 after a falling out with the management. In 1998, he joined the film company "Golden Harvest".
He won the Best Actor award at the 5th Chinese Film Media Awards for "The Midnight After". In 2000, he won the Best Actor award at the Taipei Film Awards for his performance in "Expect the Unexpected." In 2005, he won the Best Actor award at the 5th Chinese Film Media Awards.
His wife is Ho Yan Mok, the winner of the 1993 Miss Hong Kong pageant. They have a daughter together.
