As of 2020, it is the oldest rakugo storyteller in both the east and the west , and the only war-time rakugo storyteller who still survives .

When he was a child, he dreamed of training for a soldier, but he became interested in rakugo by listening to the SP record of Yanagiya Kingoro . He showed rakugo to his family and neighbors, and they burst into laughter.

In July 1941, at the age of 12 after graduating from elementary school, he was a messenger manager and introduced to the third generation Sanyutei Kinma. A second promotion on August 18th, immediately after the end of the 1945 war he was renamed Sanyutei Kinba . Edit Biography
