Han Seung Yeon is a South Korean singer, dancer, actress and member of KARA (카라). She moved to New Jersey as a teenager and attended Tenafly High School, but dropped out to move to South Korea and pursue her career as a singer. She later passed the High School Graduation Certification Examination.

She made her debut as a child actress in 1993 with a role in the drama "Dear Ends" and later had minor roles in a few more before moving to the United States.

She made her singing debut in March 2007 as KARA's main vocalist with their first full-length album, "The First Bloooooming" (later retitled as "Blooming"). The album was not a commercial success and went unrecognized by the public, and DSP Media (DSP미디어) began pressuring them as they were seen as the successors of FIN.K.L.

The group faced several lineup changes throughout the years, and in January 2016, all members ended their contracts with DSP. It was implied that KARA disbanded, but all members released statements saying that the group would just be on hiatus until a new opportunity to reunite appeared. She then returned to acting and also began appearing as a host and in variety shows.

In June 2022, she reunited with all KARA members for a photoshoot, and the group officially came back in November of that year with the album "Move Again", commemorating their 15th anniversary. They held several fan meetings in Japan and concerts in both Japan and South Korea.

On April 16, 2025, it was announced that she had signed an exclusive contract with the newly launched agency AER Entertainment.
