Tang Chia is a Hong Konger actor and martial arts director. His father had two wives (which was legal at the time in Hong Kong), and each wife had ten children. Later, he became a kung-fu student of Yuen Woo Ping’s father, Simon Yuen Siu Tien, and then became a martial arts instructor.

In the 1960s, Tang became a martial arts instructor of South Dragon, North Phoenix, a Cantonese film, and The Jade Bow, a Mandarin production, along with Lau Kar Leung. Later, he joined Shaw Brothers with Liu and became Chang’s long-term partner for martial arts instruction.

In 1982, Tang directed his first film, Shaolin Prince, co-starring Ti Lung. He directed some films before turning to television in the late 1980s but also focused on martial arts drama series.
