Ko Lo Chuen was a Hong Kong actor born in Tianjin, China, but grew up in Hong Kong. Before becoming an actor, he was a teacher and later became the principal of a primary school. He also worked as a reporter for the Guangzhou newspapers, the Gonping Bao and the Yuehua Bao. On the encouragement of his brother, Ng Chor Fan, he entered the film industry in 1935, debuting in "The Blossoming Roses". He also served thirteen terms as the president of the Hong Kong Actors' Association, of which he was also the founder.
