Shu Ping, born as Wang Shu Ping in Meihekou of Jilin Province, is a Chinese writer, screenwriter and actor. In 1984, he was admitted to the Electromechanical Department of Dalian Institute of Light Industry. In 1986, he began to publish literary works, and then worked as a reporter and editor for the newspaper "New Culture News" and the magazine "Everyone's Health".

In 1994, his first published short story "Evening News" won the Changbai Mountain Literature and Art Award. In 1996, he served as the 8th vice chairman of Jilin Provincial Writers Association.

In 1997, he served as the screenwriter for the urban comedy film "Keep Cool" directed by Zhang Yi Mou. In 1998, he and Lu Le, a Chinese photographer-director-screenwriter, jointly served as the screenwriter for the feature film "Mr Zhao". In 2000, he and Chinese actor-director Jiang Wen collaborated on the feature film "Devils on the Doorstep". Since then, the two have co-created various film works, including "The Sun Also Rises" and "Let the Bullets Fly".

In 2010, Wang served as the screenwriter for the feature film "Let the Bullets Fly" which won Best Adapted Screenplay Award at the 48th Taiwan Film Golden Horse Awards in 2011.
