Yeh! Def shouldve watched this before law school cause law school raised my standards! Literally non of the cliche plotlines are included. No romance (which tbh annoyed me bc they SHOULDVE ENDED UP TOGETHER SMH) really nice and put together, no tragic backstory (thankfully) and no childhood connection lmao

I can see your pov. But i also understand hers. The doctors told her they didnt know when she would die. That she could die at any moment. That may have instilled fear in her. Frustration that she may never get to see her son get well. Perhaps he may have never gotten well if she wasnt harsh on him. Maybe he also got frustrated with himself. She was a bad mother in so many ways, but he came out to be a good person. I think thats what matters most tbh.
About the disability thing, we cant deny that disabled people suffer in more than one way. Its their belief that they get punished by 'the heavens' for their actions. But perhaps she was also meant to represent how ignorant older people are to society nowadays. The mix of all these things stated in your comment bellow is what made this show a masterpiece imo.
