All good except FL
Wonderful story , the directorships, cinematography , editing, script and everything is all good but Cheng Xiao the FL, needs to improve. She is like a piece of wood and has the same facial expressions regardless of the situation. She couldn't even make real eye contact, and only manage to look left and right in every situation with zero feeling. I have seen her in "falling into her smile"which is okay -ish but all her other films were poorly acted. She totally spoiled the dramas. It's a pity because she's quite pretty but she really really need to improveWas this review helpful to you?
Middle episodes Bit slow ,poor directing/editing
I wonder if the comments were real or paid, I got into the drama from the excellent reviews but it's not like what they said . It's definitely not a 10, it's maybe 5-6, not 10. The story is good but extremely poorly presented,what a wasteThe story and acting was good but the middle episodes eg from 10-20s was directed/edited in exactly the same pace,be it fighting scene or comedic scene, so SLOW. So much so it gets really draggy and boring after a while . It seems to lose direction at times with unclear focus
The first 10episodes wasn't so bad but after the wedding, it gets really boring. After that it became full of domestic matters and the revenge plot seems to disappear. The few attempt at comedy just fell flat with the same boring pace. It improved a little after 20+ episodes
The Dou uncle 's suddenly became good was out of the blue? No build up, poorly presented
It's a waste of the excellent actors and actresses . I hope this director and editor will take note as it could have been so much better with such good story and acting. This is why it's not a 10, just a mediocre 6

Excellent in everyway
This is the first time I've given a full 10 for a drama . I am relatively new to cdrama and not writing in support of any idol I amGet through the first 3episodes, take it as a comedy,and it will get serious. Just relax and laugh with it
It shows that if you have been brainwashed and firmly stuck to a preconceived idea, you will be blind to all possibility and reasoning
The plot is really twisted and unpredictable. It'takes a genius scriptwriter to put it altogether and even able to put in lots of comedic twists while showing the essence of love, brotherhood and Wuxya honor
The actors are absolutely excellent especially the FL. The comedic timing,the various level of deliberate "fake coyness"and "acting within acting"is spot on. The ML too is excellent in delivery even behind a mask, using only his eyes and posture for different demeanour
The director and editing is excellent to weave various scene together without any draggy moments. Every episode is self explanatory and exciting
If you take it as a comedy and allow for some tongue in cheek moments , you will forgive some comedic moments, just take it for a laugh, don't take it too seriously and you will enjoy it but I can guarantee you the story and the plot is deadly serious and deep
I highly recommend this drama. Those bad commentators have not grasped the deeper aspect of the story and only understood very superficially
Even the OST is excellent which is rare for me to grade a 10

Too many unnecessary characters
The story and the acting is good but the introduction of the crazy numbers of random characters and sects are all thrown in at once. The crazy numbers of characters then lead to lots of fighting scene. These fighting scene were actually very good if taken individually but often thrown together without any good reasons. The plot is good but there really is just far too many random introduction of characters even 8n the last few episodes for absolutely no good reasons other than to show some fighting scenes which again is random with zero reasons. The few couple that developed were all juvenile in their style of "chasing"totally one sided with zero friendship or chemistryWas this review helpful to you?
Good plot destroyed by pathetic characters
The story is good but they made women totally stupid and pathetic.The writers don't know what messages they want to focus on.Too much time devoted to the ever downward spiral of gambling,the plight of the poor and the "tear jerking"motherhood emotional stuff. I can understand it's trying to highlight that gambling is bad,yet "forgives"it by saying its an addiction (do you see a short gun forcing gamblers to gamble?) Then there's the mother child separation stuff ( children need stability and food,not a gambling mom who gives love but zero means of survival) The final INSULT is the protrayal of women with zero common sense ( like giving your ex BF your debit card) and the persistent enslavement to emotions to the point of idiocy and only a man ( Mr Lee the lawyer) can save them? THIS IS A LOW LEVEL STORY AIMED AT UNEDUCATED PEOPLE. Do the writers really think women are this stupid? Sorry I am highly educated and highly intelligent -this kind of story made women look bad. 90%of women are cleverer than this writer!!!! What an INSULT!Was this review helpful to you?
Cheng Xiao needs to improve
Having watched "Love is sweet"with the same ML, it is obvious that the chemistry is very different very bad here,and the difference is due to the FL,Cheng Xiao. She could hardly make eye contact with her partner and fellow actors. Her face and voice is totally lacking in expressions,I wonder if perhaps there's so much botox that all the facial muscles died.Not 9nce did she manage a proper smile, merely pressing her lips together is NOT a smile !The short skirts they gave her is mostly crouch length suitable for a prostitute, just a few inches longer could make a huge difference in being "classy"obviously the stylists do not understand class and elegance
The songs sung in English was cringey and awful. The singer has such bad pronunciation of the English language. The melody is clearly written for a Chinese song with some random English words thrown in.

Story doesn't make sense
Beautiful and skilled actors but the story doesn't make sense. For some stupid reasons she's constantly rejecting him and almost like "playing"him, until it gets repeated so many times that it's super boring, and then suddenly she decided to accept him??? Again, for not very good reasonsThe other 2couples have better stories but the main leads have zero logical scripts.
I could only endured it by telling myself that they have psychological hangups from the childhood era, and I can see why the ML actions from the point of the little chubby boy who's totally grateful for his friend. Both chubby and Cheng Xing Xu was able to transmit that same emotions but the FL 's scripts to and fro rejection and then acceptance makes zero sense
And then it dragged on like this for a long time and then the last two episodes made ZERO sense. WHO WROTE THIS RUBBISH???WHO EDITED THIS?WHO PRODUCES this level of nonsense? cdrama industry can do better than this, it's a total shame. Non Chinese people will think that Chinese girls are a bunch of losers and spoilt brats like this FL

Excellent BUT Music overpowered the dialogue
Being 24episodes, it's just the right length yet it's still a very strong plot and requires great acting and directing,all of which was delivered perfectlyeverything is very good. I strongly recommend this drama
The only MESSAGE I want to pass to the production and translation team is -please can you stop putting the translated lyrics of the OST over the dialogue?or else put the lyrics somewhere else ? In addition,the OST is so loud I couldn't hear the conversation and the lyrics totally covered the subtitles. This is super super annoying even at the crucial moments GET it sorted. I am super annoyed

Stupid ending
Wrongly classified as "romantic comedy"when it's a full 100% military movieAnnoying banners,song lyrics covering subtitles of the conversation
The story was good but the writer overused the recurrent theme of killing unnecessary good people for the sake of "viewer torture"which loses it's attraction after the second time and becomes BORING , STUPID,OLD FASHIONED and LACKING in IMAGINATION
To keep insisting on the theme that people becoming heartless when they gained power is also stupid. Gone are the days that old fashioned drama and stories that REPEATEDLY insist on unnecessary death of good people based on some stupid honour and stupid personality change including leading characters just for the sake of "tear jerking"lacks creativity and REAL understanding of human nature and the art of story telling.
Other than the good acting and directing, I feel it's overuse of stupid actions on the part of the writer. The story is ok but not top brilliant simply because of the insistence and overuse of above technique,it's a FAIL because of that. you can watch but the last few episodes was stupid

Far better if the FL is a 12yo child,her character doesn't make sense and she's poorly casted
The story is good except for the 2females' illogical behaviour. Especially the FL , her existence and thinking is beyond logic. They chose the wrong actress, she's too old to "act cute". Her illogical loyalty to her master is stupid and far better to be replaced by young sub-inteligent boy that the ML has a bond with,only a young sub-inteligent person can behave this wayThis drama is watchable only if you can edit out the romance and the FL. The writer has made the two female characters to be unreasonably stupid, their behaviour defies logic
Without those two female characters then the story would have been perfect
Its a complete waste of a good plot but episodes 27 and 28 is really the peak of idiocy --no logical human beings behave this way

Light hearted and fun,subtle humour, great chemistry
Finally,a rom-com that appeals to international fans. None of the"overacting"whiny,spoilt brat annoying females with over-embellished clothes, problems get solved quickly without dragging and no repetitive theme, and short 24 episodes. The humour is subtle and funny, even with some tongue in cheek sexual connotation if you listen out for itThe ML is super good looking. There's a great balance in his acting between an awkward genius intellectual with poor social skills, without being (the usual) cold and aloof. He is warm and shows emotional depth, even chatty at times.
The FL is pretty, and her charm really grows on you. She has high EQ but a little unconfident. Her hair and fashion is appropriate and stylish without being overdone. Both are very well acted as it could so easily be boring and cheesy but no trace of it here. Both showed character development
The story is simple but the script is natural, funny ,well arranged without dragginess, highly enjoyable

Second half bit slow
Everything is good other than cdrama producers having to tick some stupid boxes like1) always having to fill 30+episodes ( resulting in lots of fillers, overuse of CGI,and repeated themes with the same villain)
2) always having to kill a supporting or main lead -(so not suitable sometimes and not always "arty")
3) always having to adhere to the original books (a drama is a product on its own and should not have to follow the books totally)
4) always having to use the OST multiple times.
The songs are good here but it's super annoying that the lyrics totally COVER all subtitles and so LOUD that it obscured ALL conversations!!!
This drama has a good story,has excellent acting and directing , good songs, good CGI. It's just TOO LONG. The first half is really interesting but the second half really could be shorten by 10episodes.
STOP sticking to some tick box criteria and this drama would have been a near perfect product
Much as I enjoyed this drama, it's really too long and draining for me and most viewers that I have lost all feeling by the last third. I just wanted to finish it and any fancy profound sentiment is totally wasted on me. Time for change, cdrama producers!!!!?

Don't need to have the romance
Every young entrepreneur should watch this drama. It's excellent "teaching" for all young start-upsThere's also lots of life lessons from the second and third couples which is realistic,well written and mature
I actually prefer the second and third couples more. The main leads seems a bit mismatched, both acted very well but just mismatched with zero chemistry.
The stylist/dresser is extremely poor especially for the FL. Shorts and short skirt don't suit her, just have the skirt 2 inches longer and adding black lycra tights will totally transform her from ugly short legs to posh classy elongated legs (don't understand why Chinese and Korean like this look, no European designers go bare legs and up to the groin, it's fit for evening not work) and that Zeng Di wearing evening dress with huge pearl earrings for breakfast in Germany? Hello? Having said that,the menswear are all very good including the flamboyant Mr.Lu
Anyway I enjoyed the drama thoroughly but I needed to edit out the romance or lack of for the main couple. Other than that it's a good drama and I learned a lot about start up and investment

Bit draggy, could have been better
The story and the acting are very good and I can see that they employed multiple famous directors. Unfortunately the script is a bit draggy in a lot of the episodes,they can really cut it down to 30episodes or even lessThe end OST by Xu Ming hao (The8) is really good but the other songs' lyrics totally block out the dialogue subtitles which is SUPER ANNOYING,
Cdrama MUST get rid of translation from door banners,song lyrics which is irrelevant and BLOCK out the dialogue,so so so annoying
Will I recommend it? NO. It's a waste of good story and acting just poorly presented. Quite boring actually

One sided and annoying
Not sure why people want to watch the dating and slow development of a fairly mundane and boring romance. To these people,I say, go out and start dating instead of watching a very ORDINARY boring relationship not worth being shown in a frame for a total 14episodesAnd then there's the breakup where the ML is trying so hard, ALL one sided and the woman is so spoiled and annoying. Do Chinese people think it's cool for women to behave like this?
I read from other review that this writer is always doing this. So get this name, remember it and NEVER again watch anything written by this person.AVOID++(don't waste your time
