This Episode added nothing to the overall plot, and what made it so frustrating was the fact that, for such a smart MC, both FL and ML seemed to have been dumbed down for this episode so that they could perform this whole dramatic death scene with FL. In my opinion, this episode was just lazy writing. Of all the ways they could have killed FL off , why did they compromise the LOGIC and intelligence both MC had throughout the show?

*NO SPOILER HERE*The introduction of the series sets a substantially high standard of where the series could take us. Just as the audience is introduced to the series we are given an action-packed introduction of the ML though excellent also leaves us with many questions. The first episode does an amazing job at drawing in their audience through the ominous ost, amazing world-building, and answering one question only to fill our heads with more. I can't wait to see what more it has in store for us.
