FAR OUT! What are you looking in the comments for? Just watch the bloody movie and get on with it. It's as crazy as it gets and worth every millisecond.
Kim Seon Ho is borderline psychotic but one slick bastard
It's not that often I am left feeling like this after watching a drama, where I just feel satisfied with everything. A simple shift in perspective and mindset made a life of turmoil produce the beauty of spring, the warmth of summer, the comfort of winter, and the renewal of autumn.
Learn life, live life, feel life and rinse and repeat. This drama taught of the gifts life brings both in the good and bad times. We may not always see the beauty in the pain or peace in happiness but with time and change, we will learn to grow and overcome.
This is what this drama shows, through the cast, production, soundtrack, visuals and narration. Life may not be perfect but some moments make it worth living.
I thought Cha Cha Cha a much better drama. And of course it was a trailblazer, the first of the "heal from big…
No doubt, 'Hometown Cha Cha Cha' really set a standard in big city to small town setting. The character development of each character including the towns people seemed so organic and natural as each of their stories became resolved in their own way.
However, after watching that I would be lying if I said I didn't want something that gave a similar feel. So whether other series are copying or not, I would not be opposed to it.
'Welcome To Samladri' has it's own atmosphere and way of feeling, thought the concept is somewhat similar to 'Cha Cha Cha' its very different in its own way.
I just finished this amazing drama and really confused at how people find the ending bad. I've concluded, that…
Ending Scene Explained:
Just as it started the ML and FL both reunite at the bus where they met and share the same umbrella together...but why is this confusing?
Kang Kyung Joon (Shin Woo Ho) switched bodies with his older brother Seo Yoon Jae (Gong Yoo) who is 12 years his senior but are both fraternal twins due to KKJ's egg being frozen until his birth became relevant to save SYJ's life. Therefore they look completely different not only because of age age but also being fraternal twins.
Before the last scene, KKJ had left for Germany with his "new family" in the body of SYJ. Therefore, naturally would've awaited the return of KKJ in his own body. A year passed and Ma Ri confirmed a few scenes before the final scene, that both brothers had already switched bodies and forgotten everything when they woke up.
However, when it came time for Kang Kyung Joon to reunite with Teacher Gil...the ending scene had KKJ in the version of his older brother Seo Yoon Jae instead of himself.
The answer is simple, for the sake of all moral values, they kept KKJ as SYJ in the last scene to not taint this pure innocent love as a perverted form of love. Especially when we are talking about a "18-year-old and a 30+-year-old lady walking away all lovey-dovey"
The audience has naturally become comfortable with Gong Yoo portraying KKJ, whilst they've only seen Shin Woo Ho portray KKJ at 18 years old.
Therefore, although KKJ at the end is 21 years of age, to see Shin Woo Ho portray KKJ again for the final scene would've been very uncomfortable for most Korean Viewers during that time.
If you can't accept that as the reason why they did it like this, here is one that will make sense as part of the lore in their world.
Since Kang Kyung Joon and Seo Yoon Jae are fraternal twins they have a 3% - 20% chance of looking identical despite being fraternal twins. Therefore, over the period of that year, the dormant puberty hit KKJ so hard when he awoke; He, within a year aged quite a bit and in turn ended up looking exactly like SYJ when he reunited with Teacher Gil... I mean if they switch bodies in the first place, who's to say this isn't possible?
I just finished this amazing drama and really confused at how people find the ending bad. I've concluded, that those who rated this low and found this ending confusing and downright terrible...Most likely skipped scenes or episodes and didn't even bother to gather the information that was being said about the situation at hand. Or are just mentally challenged to not understand the ending.
7.5/10, would recommanded and rewatch.
My reply below will spoil the ending but explain it
He hasn't had any REALLY good roles for some time now... why?
After 'Goblin' became such a huge success in South Korea and 'Train to Busan' became an international hit after it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival, Gong Yoo, pretty much had it with being famous. It affected his mental health and he stopped enjoying acting as much as he did before. Which was why his come back role was as a guest star only in 'Squid Game'.
However the fame 'Squid Games' garnered didn't help in reducing his fame for both national and international fans.
Gong Yoo, also has a passion for music. Therefore his reason for not taking many projects is credited to his dream of making a proper comeback as a musician.
I forgot to write my thoughts after finishing this series.
However, I ended up steaming right through all 24 episodes and especially loved the reference at the end of ep 15 to her previous show 6 years before 'Pasta' with Lee Sun Kyun (R.I.P). Watching it in 2024 almost felt like the show was doing Lee Sun Kyun homage, simply because they had him do a voice-over as Gong Hyo Jin's blind date and never showed the face of her blind date but just back scenes of them walking away, which makes this scene more emotional.
I can say I enjoyed the drama very much. Besides the situation of the ML, FL and SML, all in all it was a very entertaining drama to watch.
If someone made an edited version without any of the three leads' romance, it would be a beautiful slice of life rom/com that I would watch multiple times.
I'd say don't let that hold you back though, I took it for what it is, a romantic comedy, therefore the love triangle to me was just another part of the comedy.
Made 7 years ago by a reddit user for his fellow reddit kdrama lovers. You just need a reddit account to login or if your not bothered, you'll automatically be using a guest account as soon as you enter the page. You'll also be required to install the 'goplay' extension on google chrome in order to play the videos.
This web has high quality drama's only, so you'd never come across one with bad quality unless you set the quality setting to low. Sadly not every drama is there but it has quite an extensive archive. Thankfully this drama is on there.
You'll have to add the 'goplay' google extension but its a really good site for quality kdrama. It was created by a reddit user 7 years ago for his fellow reddit kdrama lovers. So in short its not all that well known, however quality is a 10/10 and it basically has any kdrama though unfortunely I have come across some that it didn't have.
Don't let the ending confuse you, the director was just giving the audience (us) the satisfaction of both endings.
In the past, where "Zhang Chi of 2027" returned to, he managed to overcome the fate he would face in the future whilst making up for the things that Zhang Chi should've done better in his life. This gave the Zhang Chi of the past a chance at a better life filled with love, family and friends.
On the other hand Zhang Chi from the future finally woke up from his coma, which was the reason for him not returning to Li Zhen Dong's body. Waking from the coma, he is now relieved of all the regrets and hatred that was bottled inside him through his years of turmoil. In the sense he woke up almost back to his "old self", however for his ending the director gave more of an open ending to let the viewers decide how things turned out for him.
These was my options of how things turned out:
Option 1: Zhang Chi finally reconciled with his teammates after all those years of not seeing each other. Whether he returned back to racing is not important but rather the fact that he got those he cared about the most back into his life. Zhang Chi and Li Xiao probably never got the chance to be together but each of them found happiness in being able to remain in each other's life.
Option 2: Similarly, reconciling with his teammates, he decided to give up his chase for racing and pursued a new dream, to coach and run his own team. Like Ye Gong, Zhang Chi dedicated the rest of his life to helping others find their joy and passion in racing. Somewhere down the line Zhang Chi and Li Zhen Dong of the future managed to become friends just like their counterparts in the past. Zhang Chi and Li Xiao also finally got together however much later down the line after her marriage sadly (yeah right) had a falling out.
There are many Cdramas and Kdramas that feature similar endings with similar concepts of time slips...the confusing part would've been the fact that Zhang Chi said he had a "good long dream" but naturally so from his perspective, it was nothing more than a dream. But from our perspective as viewers, it wasn't just a dream but a bloody good series lol.
I started this show on a whim but didn't expect to enjoy it with laughter, cheering and crying...far out, it has been a long time since a series made me feel such emotional turmoil...it is the closes series I've seen so far that almost mimics a similar feeling I get from watching anime both in atmosphere and storytelling.
You don't need to know about cars to enjoy this series, it is honestly the best cdrama I've had the pleasure of watching.
You won't regret watching. I've rewatched 3-4 times
The SFL scenario does kind of happen, though in this case, it is with a supporting female character, however, she would be considered a SFL with the current kdrama standards. Though, its more of a onesided crush she has for ML in which she also shares a kissing scene with the ML and the FL lead sees the whole thing occur. Because she became jealous, she saw that as a sign she liked the ML more and that's how she decided on the pending question of "Who does she like more?" which is bizarre.
I felt the need to mention the cheating part because I don't like dramas where the FL and ML have to "cheat" to discover they have feelings for one another.
Honestly, if you took the ML, FL and SML out of this drama it would become a wholesome slice-of-life drama with the other characters.
If someone made an edit like this I would watch it many times.
You won't regret watching. I've rewatched 3-4 times
They keep it PG at most, in the whole show she kisses ML twice(lips) and SML once(Lips), this show could've ended with 12 or 16 episodes it just felt a bit draggy but I enjoyed the entertainment the rest of the drama brought. I think part of the main reason they kept the SML interaction with the FL minimum was probably because of the 11 year age gap between them, ironically the FL's husband IRL is actually 11 years her junior Kevin Oh. The name best describes the show, "Jealousy Incarnate" as jealousy was the main reason they crossed moral grounds. Despite this I actually enjoyed the series.

If you haven't started it yet here are the answer in order however I don't know the episode, majority of this happens near the beginning:
She kisses ML first with no feeling attached as a way to "end her crush"
She starts seeing SML after being introduced by ML to SML
She kisses SML in which they start to offically date
She "cheats on SML with ML" in hospital change room when he kisses her
Straight after kissing ML she goes to SML out of guilt and ask him to break up with her because she is a "evil witch" or "cheating bitch" whilst constantly apologising and also says that she loves him but also loves his best friend ML.
ML hears this over the phone and confronts her straight after she left SML which she admits the same thing to him, that she loves them both exactly the same amount
She is torn by the idea she not only ruined a friendship but also had the balls to fall for two man so she decides to not go with either of them.
One month past still all in the same episode they meet again to try and sort it out once and for all.
After many back and fourth and couple episode later, they decide for the three of them to live together to decide who she likes more and get to know each other more
As for the episode she makes her decision of who she likes more is ep 19
I reckon I'll leave it there for you to decide if you wanna watch it or not, I still recommand watching it though because it is definitely a very entertaining show, and many other stories that run alongside the main that have interesting endings too

2016 was Gong Yoo's biggest year in the film industry as 'Goblin' became a national success and 'Train to Busan' became an international success.
He faced mental health issues due to the pressure of the industry and felt the need step back from acting as he wasn't enjoying it anymore.
He is also hoping to make a comeback as a musican as he wants to give that career pathway a shot.
However the fame 'Squid Games' garnered didn't help in reducing his fame for both national and international fans.
