All I can say is get help, please, you seem to really not like me, which I don't care, you honestly seem to hold…

@GeeWheez Shippers can be weird, I get it now thanks 😊

That wasn't to me but yes you did say it to me too, in my previous comment . But you have no idea what your talking about. Do you even know what is a shipper? It's a person who wanna put TWO PEOPLE together. Male OR female. It has nothing to do with BL. YOU on the other hand seems to be one, or, you just don't like BL, or can be just a pure homophobe because you don't like actors playing BL.

So far, no I don't like you, because you push YOUR opinion and you think everyone else is just seen as less than you. Delusional? Just try to justify on anything I said that was wrong? But YOU have it for me. But YOU can make shipping comments and we can't say anything :

"LilyCollins 14 hours ago
I would like to see them as a romantic pair though"

You have contributed to nothing so far in the conversation apart from insults. So if it's what you consider a "comment" on the show, YOU are delusional, not me!!!

You have no review, no feeds, and you come here just insulting people?
You don't like my comment, just justify next time. Unless you just learn a word and wanted to use it in a conversation to prove you knew something. Well, learn the full meaning next time!

I would like to see them as a romantic pair though

Should I laugh ???

I have to give a final applause to those who are "fans" of actors. I am neither fan or gender bias. But LilyCollins seems to know more about acting than any of us. Giving our opinion, if it doesn't go her way, we are "weirdos" or "Shippers", witch, for those who knows me, could say she got it so wrong.

Acting is a difficult job. But not everyone can do all genre just because they are actors. Thai BL has it's own world, with many shows on the side to "ship" BL couples. It's not something they do in Japan or Korea.

The other thing is that actors work for a film company, not a talent agency. So, they have to do movies, dramas or series created by that company. In Korea and Japan, and most of the world, the talent agency is separated to film companies to avoid exclusivity. Thai talent agency are rare, and jobs difficult to get. The actors can then choose what he/she want to do. But in Thailand, they have no choice. They can refuse, but if they do, they could be put in the cold. They can only leave at the end of their contract or be fired. It is very difficult for someone to leave. Especially big names like GMMTV.

Anyway, those actors have to work, whatever is given to them. Their "agent" can give them many scripts if they are popular and choose what they wanna do. But it's really rare as Asia is the biggest drama creators in the world, and Thailand is number 2 after China. So, the actors play in whatever is given to them. It is the film company who choose who they want in the role. Sometime casting the actors, but mainly for newcomers.

Thai BL actors are often casted in continue to have a strong fan base. Mostly straight actors, this is not taken as a gender role, but more a popularity role. BL is mainly for women with Yaoi being one of the biggest seller in Manga, and more recently in webtoon. So, since 2016, BL is becoming popular. Many actors started in the industry via BL, and others went to BL to increase their popularity. After being in BL, many extended their career with singing, fashion, etc...
But it is mostly how they became popular. Some even played in BL but refused to have to much same sex contact, let alone sex scene. Those BL can be popular just because of the actors, not so much about the same sex relationship. Those actors do regular drama the most, and fans don't really push the shipping much but love the bromance between the actors.

But some actors have done many BL and the shipping is part of their job as BL actors. The BTS bromance and shipping has to be strong and reliable to their fans. The agency push them to be together most of the time in reality shows, social media and even regular drama where they play together even in "straight" roles. But with all the scandals those last few years in the BL world, actors don't want to stay in the BL industry, and try various roles. But because it is a film company, they can only play within. BL acting and straight or regular acting are very different. The cast may know each other from other dramas, BL or not. But the chemistry has to be instantaneous. In BL, the boundary is their own sexuality. They mostly seeing it as a career opportunity. But in regular drama, they can't hide. They need to act like they do in private. Some are very good in it. Even after playing in BL for a long time, they can still pull it off. Others, well...

That is what I see in here. Some actor are very popular in the BL world, but here they are just not as convincing. And when I say BL actors, I mean actors who made it because of their BL roles, not for the gender they played. The other way around happened too. Regular genre actors comes to play a BL character to push their fan base, but the acting was not convincing.

Some of you don't realize that BL is a genre, like horror, love story, drama. Being good at one doesn't mean you are good at everything else. It's like asking a famous comedian to play a serious drama. It can go either way. In here, not the right choice. Those actors, famous in the BL industry by the role they took since the BL explosion in 2016, are not famous for their regular dramas. sometime secondary roles, or lead but with poor review. That is why the often jungle between BL and regular role. Actors in Thailand are often payed by the success of their role. More fan, more big successful drama mean more money with more advertisement with big international companies (that is for every Asian actors who play in the film or drama industry).

Some actors could do everything, other should just choose a lane and stick with it, or they may loose their fans and the interest they have in them. Thai BL should only be done by actors who really want to, and enjoy the Thai BL universe. Otherwise, Thai BL will become the same as China, Japan or Korea, and loose the edge the other countries are not crossing. (Well, I say Japan, but they do more over 18 BL than any other countries).

So I do hope that the one who kept insulting me for not liking their actors just because I think they are better in BL than regular drama, start to understand that Thai BL is a genre, not just a student job you do to make money and fame.

No season 2, I just hope that they'll do a better job than the series with the cutting. The last 3 episodes were a mess. They cut scenes to fit, but it was so all over the place. When LW disappeared, or when SKT was absent. Nothing made sense. Plus, they were more in the webtoon than that. So I hope the movie will be better. Can't wait to see !!!

Ok Changdol "using disabled person for comic relief", really???
I do have a certain pain for people who can make such a comment when they don't have a clue what they're talking about.

And Kobayashi
"if an able bodied person can be used for comedic relief, so can a disabled person." You are not better.

William Shakespeare used comic relief because the subject matter can become too dense, melodramatic, or serious, which can put off the audience. Comic relief adds a flair of humor to re-engage the audience and break up some of the tension. Mercutio was, if you remember, a flamboyant guy who made a speech about a fairy queen named Mab (very gay for the time). And LGBTQI where always used that way in movies through the 20th century when it was seen as a disability and sentence to jail and chemical castration.

Now people want to take out disability from the screen, not because you think is bad for them, but just because YOU feel uncomfortable seeing a disabled person. No??? So let me ask you this from this comedy :

Are they making the disability like a choice of the person disable like Christians do with LGBTQI+ ?
Do they make disability look less difficult that it really is?
Do you think a person on wheelchair doesn't have a brain and no sense of humor concerning themselves?
Don't you think pity toward disability from people is worse than having an actor playing a stupid character on wheelchair?
Don't you think that people in wheelchair or disable won't appreciate to be seen on a comedy?
Do you think ALL People in wheelchair are good people, and can't be a bad guy?
If you watched Star Wars, remember that Dark Vador was completely disable under the black mask and body (lost legs and arms) but do you see people saying it's a bad look for people with disability, just because he can walk with his suit instead of a wheelchair?

"Comic relief usually means a releasing of emotional or other tension resulting from a comic episode interposed in the midst of serious or tragic elements in a drama." (Wikipedia)
But IT IS a comedy, (Genres: Comedy, Romance, Drama - described here, on MDL)
So maybe you and everyone going for it should just enjoy the drama, and only say something IF they are making fun of disability. If it's just a funny bad character who happened to be in a wheelchair, why can't it be just that, a comedy???

We Best Love is Taiwanese. Gay marriage is even legal there. so censorship isn't a problem. Mr. Heart is Korean,…
I was talking about the company Tencent Video that made those series possible, not comparing the countries. I am always defending the BL from those various countries, so I do know the difference. But you also forgot something, Tencent Video is a company from mainland China and yet bought ALL those dramas. The progress of visability of LGBTQI in China is progressing and it is a good thing. Stay By Me is very ambigious, even more than others. So the reality of my question was "Is China making this a censored BL or a normal BL through Tencent Video?"

Again, this team will make a series where I will cry from beginning to end!!!
UWMA and BU were two of my absolute favorite dramas. The stories were so well written and the actors where amazing. I do hope it will be the same here again.

What I like is that main roles will not only be by very young actors, but an older generation (Teng Kanist Piyapaphakornkoon is 36, Toey Puwanat Ruengves is 28). I always feel like there is a huge gap between some of the people watching and the actors. Teng was, after all, in the Gay Wave drama in 2016 in Thailand (gay dramas started to be more accessible, and mainstream), with Gay OK Bangkok 1 and 2.

I am also happy to see mix (already 23 years old) being one of the main characters, but I don't like how the made him look like. New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul often fail to choose good make-up artists and wardrobe designers. He's out of touch at only 33. Even if he's an amazing screenwriter and director, he shouldn't let this be his weakness. In Star and Sky, he over-cut things making some scenes awkward, but he has improved a lot since (my only 12% and A boss and a babe are also some of my favorite dramas).

I really hope this drama will be as fantastic as the book.

First, just by watching the trailer, I think it's more about him faking being disable because he wanna keep the guy close because he's jealous. So, don't make a big thing out of it. Secondly, IT IS a real Thai comedy, the kind that inspire Ru Paul's comedy sketch on Drag Race. It is big, ridiculously bad on purpose. Many countries has those kind of things (Saturday Night Live in the US for example). It is kind of like what we do this in the UK for Christmas with pantomime.

It is good for young actors who don't have experience to do those series. He give them confidence in front of camera, build their reputation and their mistakes can be turned into a joke.
I am sure many people have seen Thai Comedy series (even movies), and it is not everybody's taste, but it is really popular in Thailand. Watch with open mind, or don't. But please, don't compare those comedies to regular BL drama. It's completely different.

Now, stop saying things like "it's rude to people with disability."
Unless you have the disability yourself, don't pretend you know what it feels like (like a white person talking about racism). As a comedy, it is actually nice to be seen, even if it's a joke. Try doing it for a day, and see how easy it was for him to play a disable person for many weeks, even for "fun", it's not easy. I remember that, in the 80s, my grandfather played a "disable good witch" in the panto of Wizard of Oz. It was him, cross dress, in a wheelchair. It was very comical and wasn't to be taken seriously. Not because he played a disable person, but because he showed difficulties a person in wheelchair faced at that time (stairs, doors, etc...)
It is only rude if you are mocking the situation they're in and not the situation they face.

In this show, because I think he's faking the whole thing (even if he's not), the character he play is ridiculous. They're not making fun of the disability, but at the character itself.

After Red Sleeve, a well written show where he as superb, he should be looking for better roles, its degrading…
Why degrading romantic comedy? How many series exist like that in the US with big celebrities and have been running for years? Yet, Korean dramas are only about 16 episodes. Rarely more than 1 season. So, the actors can multiply their roles and what they do. Proving he's not a one trick poney. I actually like his acting, in whatever role is been given. Why? because he gives 100% every time. He also share the BTS on his YouTube chanel. Red Sleeve was, of course, beautiful. But it was also very demanding and hard for actors and production. Switching roles is also a way to keep the actors saine.
Stop saying it's degrading. The webtoon is not perfect, but I didn't really like the manga of Uncanny Counter either, yet I love the series. I want to wait before judging. After all, it is not a show made with an IPhone, but there is a big production crew and senarist who are doing there job.

It's a comedy, not a drama. So it will not be serious at all. Don't expect to much apart from a good laugh !
