Title Death's Game Spoiler
Game changer in the relationship with death in drama. Suicide is a sin in any religion, and it is shown how death handle those who have sin, especially those blaming God and Death for their choices in life.

I love Seo In Gook's acting in all his dramas. He's a natural. He has a charm, but his look can make him as much as a lover boy as a horrible villain. In here, we don't know where or who he is really. Life changes you, but so is death apparently.

From being a victim, to bully, we see him change through the bodies he take. He will also realise that his suicide was selfish and see the people he left behind, and even see them get killed because of his actions in the new body. How will it end???

Death's game is not a game you can win unless you rediscover the meaning of life. And maybe, saving lives could become his after life goal???

I love seing all those actors involved in this project as reincarnations like Lee Jae Wook, Kim Jae Wook and others...

Love it so far and can't wait for the other episodes!!!

Title Dew the Movie Spoiler
The writers should just have made him bisexual and dive into this topic further. Bisexuality does exist and from…
But it's not a movie about a bisexual man. It's the story of a man who loved a man that have died and became a woman in it's next live to meet the man he/she loved 16 YEARS AGO !!! So, he's old and an adult, she is very young. The expression "love is blind" is just that, an expression. Reality would say, he's a pedophile who switch sexuality like tissu because he refuse to grow up and change and find someone who love you now as you are. Gays are not a rarity like our parents or religious people seems to believe. Yes, bisexuality exist, but at some point, you'll make a choice about who you wanna be with. Everyone is bisexual to a degree. The only difference is how much do YOU accept yourself with that person and be defined by it. BI is the way you are when single and like to f.ck around (like MANY men), but "it's a secret". Like that, if they want a wife because their family want grandchildren, they can because no one knows. Yet, if they cheat on their wife with boys, they can just say "I was playing golf/football with my friends" or "I slept at my BF apartment because I was very drunk last night and didn't want to wake you up"... I slept with a few of those men without knowing before the next day...
Sorry, it's 1am and a bit drunk with soju (for real lol).
On One Room Angel Oct 9, 2023
They say it's BL, but the fact that Koki is an adult the Angel Takashi a kid would make it not really proper. Even in the manga, appart from some "sexual comments", there is nothing BL. Their "love" could be seen as friendship, or even brotherhood. So, for the fans of BL, don't expect a naughty story. It will be sot and gentle. BUT the story IS beautiful. You will travel through their past and struggles.

Title Twinkling Watermelon Spoiler
Is it me, or just looking at the cast I think I understood the plot, meaning Ha Eun Gyeol will go back to the past in 1995, and THINK he is meeting his father, but in fact will be meeting his uncle? The master has no name, but just by the Look Alike, he may be Ha Yi Chan of the future... What I like in this story is how they show people with a disability and how they are seen by others. The treatment they have because of it and why they separate themselves from the others. The actors are also amazing. Learning KSL (Korean Sign Language) is not easy, on top of acting. And they "look" fluent. I can't say if it's as good as the deaf community is expecting, and it would be sad if it's not, but knowing how much Asians are perfectionists, it would not surprise me if it was close to perfect.

I also want to highlight the two "baby actors" Jung Hyun Joon and Kim Ha Eon who also do sign language at only 11, and have already played big roles in drama at their young age. Some actors haven't done half of the career those two have at 30. They are impressive to me.

But the best part is certainly seeing Choi Hyun Wook from Weak Hero Class 1. No actors in this drama are newbies, and with a cast like this I expect a great show. Will see next week when things change...

That's a very long paragraph in response to 'how weird shippers can get'. It wasn't even stated if it was BL,…
I agree. But shippers are mainly in Asia and USA. We don't have to much of that in Europe I think. Certainly because we are more into butterfly love, switching easily from one lover to the next. Plus, Asian drama is a niche. It's growing in popularity with Netflix, but not to older generations and people who don't like to bother with subtitles. Shipping will unfortunately get worse because celebrities get more and more money by staying single and presenting a "pure" image. And the fans can get closer to the celebrities with social media. So, the fans feel like they are "friends" with them, and are allowed to "love" them and even "judge" them. It's not healthy for anyone, and suicide of celebrities in Asia is high. But what can we do apart from watching this as a bad drama?

I agree. That's why you can't only say "In Thailand", it's the whole industry that's bad. That is why they strike in the US.

Title The Jungle Spoiler
Well, Be On Cloud made a Thai BL movie that was shown at the Cannes Festival in France, being the highest BL production…
You have a point...

But 3 years ago, Thailand received a backslash on the way they treated BL actors. They were safe until COVID because BL drama was watched wordwide and actors started to see the difference between Thailand and other Asian countries. South Korea has a very high protection to actors, and scandals about abuse are on the spotlight every time now. Japan never had this problem has BL has been in the culture like forever. After all, BL comes from Yaoi Mangas at the beginning.

Thailand is still a poor country, and many young people choose an acting career to support their family, especialy if they have the face for (Go to Thailand, and you'll see that what you see on TV is not the majority of people. It is not only in the Thai BL industry, but in the whole showbiz that you see this. But remember that ME TOO was not from Thailand, it started in America.

BUT, do not put every Thai BL drama in the same basket. Especially now, with a new wave of BL drama. GMMTV is adapting with what people expect today. Mame's BL novels are popular among Thai fans, but, as you said, predictable. Other novels have been adapted to series, but they are also predictable. Why? because it sales in Thailand. So, GMMTV and minor companies decided to make money out of that with their popular actors. But now, people expect better stories, like you and me. We want more than predictable series and characters. Original shows became more popular, but it is still not enough to fil the demand.

So, let's come back to Be On Cloud, who adapted KinnPorshe novel into a series, and still kept it similar to the book. It was a chalenge. Now they did Man Suang this year, an original BL movie created by BOC. Apo Nattawin was already a huge star in Thailand but stopped in 2018 for 2 years before the end of his contract. This is a guess, but I think he was ready to come out and Channel 3 stopped him because it's a conservative channel. So, he became freelance for BOC.

Why do I tell you all this? It's because I don't want you to judge the whole BL industry with negative eyes. It is still new, and quickly changing. Cinema and Television has been here since 1895, and abuse started then and changes are very slow to appear (strike in the US at the moment and the Me Too movement few years ago). Now, BL is young and quickly changing, so, it is a little unfair in my opinion to criticise it when progress is on its way.

The comment that got deleted, was the reason that made people riled up. I'm all for people having different opinions,…
I agree, but the insult in it wasn't a comment. You can have different opinion, we can talk about it. If you know me, you can see that I always say what I think.

But because I am a gay man who watch BL, doesn't mean that I want good looking actors to play in BL and want to ship them together. That would make me an hypocrite because I am not really good with straight actors taking gay roles (to me it always fell like a white person playing a black role). But many people say "they are actors". I don't see their point of view, but whatever. At least we're visible on TV.

But then, she goes saying that I was delusional and had the audacity to make a shipping comments about the actor who could have been good with another actress in romantic relationship ???
So yes, I lost it...

I deleted the comment, but thought I shouldn't have. Why should I delete my opinion and let that Karen say whatever? Nope, I stand on my ground. She don't like it? she can FO. lol

Damn. I missed the tea. Y'all always fighting when I'm not here 😒 no fair
Don't worry, I deleted the comment because I didn't like the way it went for no reason at all. You can read my comment bellow to get the tea, but it was only fair that if you don't like the series, you give a reason why. You may disagree and I can understand that. But insulting me for not having the same opinion is just being a Karen to me.

Like you asked before, not all BL are the same, not all actors are good playing in it, but same goes for BL actors playing in regular drama. They could also be bad in it. But apparently saying that is because I want only to see them in BL. Nope, I just wanted to point out that some actors can't play everything just because they are actors.

Title The Jungle Spoiler
I have a question. A lot of people complain due to their acting in shows like this. But lets be honest with ourselves.…
Well, Be On Cloud made a Thai BL movie that was shown at the Cannes Festival in France, being the highest BL production ever made. The actors made the world acclaimed BL series KinnPorshe. Of course BOC has encountered many difficulties by having straight actors who made scandals with female partners. But the 2 main actors who are leads in both the series and now an international movie are considered the leading actors of the BL.

Of course, if you compare 2016 to 2023, the BL world has changed. I have many favourite BL that I watched many times, but they are mainly Korean or Japanese. Thailand do good one, but, as I said before, the Thai BL is different. BOC try to change it by having Gay actors in main roles, and the controversy made it clear that it was the best decision.

But don't forget that BL was first created for women, not for the LGBTQ. Even if many gays love it, because the world it shows is safer than real life, it wasn't the audience they were doing it for. That is why the take actors from regular drama and put them in BL.

The other thing is, those BL were low cost at the beginning. Some were made in less than 2 month for 12 episodes. They took Thai BL novels and turned it into series. For exemple, Mame's novels are really popular (TharnType, Don't Say No, Love by Chance, Love in the Air and now Wedding Plan). And if you watch in order of air date, you'll see the evolution of acting. They became more daring, showing more s.xual relation, and taking more chance with real gay actors. And the main reason is that straight actors don't really want to do same s.x scenes, and even less if their co-star is openly gay like in TharnType.

So, in conclusion, don't put all BL in the same basket. I am more than happy to give you good BL to watch that are enjoyable, without migraines, and with good re-watch values.
