The script has just the right amount of depth to keep you hooked without ever feeling heavy or boring, and the actors (meaning the full cast not just the 2 ML) bring it to life with a truly lovely performance. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for any future series they do together — I already know they won’t disappoint.
100% recommended: great fun, captivating from start to finish, and full of beautiful people from the 2 ML to the rest of the cast, with beautiful energy.

A 10 out of 10 masterpiece
If there had been 48 more episodes, I would have watched every single one with the same excitement and curiosity! This is one of the very few series I’ve enjoyed entirely without ever needing to fast-forward — a true rarity. Everything about it is top-tier: from the flawless performances and beautiful sepia-toned cinematography, to the enchanting soundtrack (who wouldn’t love a jazzy rendition of Greensleeves?), including both the opening and closing credits. The wardrobe is a masterclass in sartorial elegance, with each outfit perfectly styled to reflect both character and era. Even the quieter, transitional scenes are beautifully crafted and full of atmosphere.
You can’t help but fall in love with every single element of this series. I truly cannot recommend it enough — it’s captivating, refined, and unforgettable.

Great storyline and strong acting performances, however, unnecessarily long and drawn out
Great storyline and strong performances from both the young and adult actors. However, the series feels overly long and drawn out. The core story and action could have been condensed into about 10 episodes for a more gripping pace, but instead, much of the runtime is filled with repeated memory flashbacks and scenes that feel like unnecessary filler. There are also excessively long shots and drawn-out moments that could have easily been trimmed in half. The music was obsessively repetitive and needed more variation. While I truly enjoyed the story and would still recommend it, I have to admit—I found myself skipping and fast-forwarding through quite a bit of it!Was this review helpful to you?
