FL got entangled with Gido's family because her grandmother worked there and she lived there with her. Don't know what happened between her and her father, but it seems it's something old (he's was an absentee father?) and they lived separately ever since. And since she lived with Gido's family since childhood she's like an unofficial family member, even though everyone except for grandpa treats her like a servant.
As for Yiyeon, I think she's simply jealous how her grandfather dotes on FL instead of his real granddaughter.

It varies from year to year as new stuff gets released. This year, for example:

At the very least "From Now On, Showtime!"? There's a supernatural murder mystery going on there on the side, kinda similar to Goblin.

Or "Crazy Love", for example? No stupid second leads or dumb breakups, sprinkled with corporate espionage and death threats mystery orchestrated by multiple antagonists. Consistently good from beginning until the end.

Or absolutely epic "Alchemy of Souls"? It's hard to even begin explaining how much other engaging stuff is going on there besides complicated leads romance.

Or utterly hilarious "Gaus Electronics"? - no filler, short format rom-com. My current favorite ongoing one.

Heck, even cliche "A Business Proposal" was more engaging to watch.

Looks like you're living in 2010s still, if you think that's how rom-coms are or should be nowadays.

I've no problem with it until I start feeling like any more and I'd get diabetes. The problem is, I like rom-coms that have engaging plots, meaning they have to have something else interesting going in it besides just cheese and fluff. Law Cafe's plot has enough meat on it for 12 episodes tops.

More like they're both hindering him by making him mute and blind. I think this poster is an allegory on popular Asian proverb - "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil" 🙈, 🙉, 🙊. Fitting, considering the premise of this show, how everyone turned a blind eye to the pleas of the poor boys from Hope Center.

Hence ML's brother judge is so sus. He could have rigged the jury from the inside. People suspect him because of this starting from episode 2.
And now that it's revealed that In Sung is a computer wiz it is possible he could have hacked the system from the outside. So he's also very sus.

Agreed 🥱 , it's an overdose of cheese and fluff now, but the main plot with the villain is dragging. They're just circling around each other for several episodes too many.

I'm getting curious who's the shadowy guy they keep showing from time to time, doing nefarious things? Is that another coworker of marketing team number 3 that nobody notices? Or from from some other department?
So far I've seen him:
-Make ML's YouTube account public;
-Take ML's photo when he was trying to take his phone from his pocket by rubbing his pants off the table corner;
-"Fix" Power AI on Wie Jang Byung's table when it got crushed to pieces.

Maybe I missed some other appearances.

He's still confusing, like for example:
-Why is he so rich when his father was a prosecutor and in his late years went into politics? Are they old money or something?
-Is he an illegitimate son? His surname is different from his father and he never fit in with the rest of the family and spent his childhood in other countries.
-Why did he change his appearance when he became a lawyer? Aside from sunglasses, it's still unclear. Is he imitating someone? Some kind of all American, tweed jackets wearing type of lawyer from the 70-s or smth?

Also, now that we know the context, all of his playfulness and eccentric behaviour is just jarring to watch - it's all an act, he actually is a sad clown.

All went to his backstory and died there.

But did they have to subvert the established genre of this drama for his backstory so much? It just clashes too much with the rest of the series.

Well, his actor does frequently play villains. But he's not a politician and was away to US for several years after what happened to ML. The main villain has to be someone close to the world of politics, he's gotta be able to pull the strings and gather ill gotten slush funds from corrupt chaebols. His father fits the bill more. But maybe it's some random dude yet to be revealed.

I agree, in itself his backstory wasn't bad, but it's like it was taken from a different script altogether, didn't feel like it fit tonally at all. And yea, too much time wasted on it, we've got only 6 episodes left now.

And why did they have to go that cliche route? This type of premise is in every second crime drama out there. They could have just made him a lawyer that fights for the little guy, with no terrible overarching plot dragging from his past.

This contrived mess with boys identities is a total headache to solve. I'm getting tired of lies, misdirections and unreliable narration that only complicates it more. Hopefully ML will confront his brother about what he knows soon so that we can get a clearer picture.
