Best Xianxia that I have seen in a long time…
“Love between fairy and devil” has been the best show I’ve seen in a long time. The graphics are SO physically stunning, sometimes it’s breathtaking. The costumes are so beautiful, and have their own style unlike I’ve seen in other Xianxia. The fighting looks so awesome, my son loved when the dragon appeared. The music makes me want to keep turning up the TV, I’m sad I cannot find the opening theme song on YouTube yet. The humor is hilarious mostly because of Dylan Wang and Esthers acting, it’s not cheesy, and is so well done. The story is good and it’s pretty unique combining elements from other fantasy things to make up the “curse”. All in all it’s the first one I’ve seen in a long time that might match up to my all time favorite Xianxia, however only time will tell, so far I’m super enjoying every minute. Was this review helpful to you?
One of the best Xianxia’s out there.
This was the drama that made me fall in love with Chinese dramas. It is as good as “Eternal Love” is. The story is about a girl who is born with no emotion or senses. She can’t feel hot or cold or see colors or distinguish music. A boy comes into her life that is drawn to her and despite the fact that she is incapable of love, he puts his very life on the line to change that for her. Cheng Yi is the star in this show and his character is truly selfless and constantly doing the right thing even if the world around him punishes him for it. The story is unique and interesting, and the acting, amazing. Although the girl is frustrating because she literally cannot feel emotion and has a lot of growth to do, if you keep that in mind, you will love the journey. A lot of people get annoyed by the female lead because of who she is and what she does, but she has to grow so that she can learn to be a decent human being. How can you expect someone who’s never had feelings to be genuinely good to others? it’s impossible. The Director also includes a very full and very complete ending. He is a director who needs to teach other c-drama directors how to give a satisfying ending. I believe the ending is an episode and a half, which is perfect.. no one wants to watch 60 episodes and then have a five minute ending. I want a complete and satisfying ending after a journey like that. The director gets it, and gives it to you. If you’ve not seen this drama, I highly recommend it.Was this review helpful to you?
Would you be with someone who manipulates you for gain?
That’s basically the issue I had with show. The show itself is really good. I love the digital effects, I like the fairytales interwoven in the show. Music is really good, the male lead is good, the autistic brother is portrayed well, and there really are no annoying characters except for the female lead. Here is what I can’t get over. The female lead decides to like and capture this boy. Her motive from the very beginning is just because he doesn’t like her, she wants him. Although she had a rough childhood, you can tell that she was always given or was able to get what she wanted. She’s a spoiled brat. What’s worse is she manipulates everyone around the male lead to get her way. I don’t like that the story rewards her for that. I don’t like that the male lead falls for her with that attitude. Considering the male lead is a caring, giving, worn out individual because everyone takes from him. Why would he then get a girlfriend who’s so broken he is having to be, exactly what makes him exhausted in life. A caregiver. The male leads cannot be oblivious to that fact that in order to get what she wants, she will do literally anything. She even manipulates and uses his autistic brother to insert herself into the male leads life. What worse is that she achieves her goal in the story. According to the story even if you’re super broken in life, you don’t have to fix yourself, you just shamelessly do whatever it takes to get what you want, and it can be yours. Was this review helpful to you?
