the costume designer actually worked with a youku drama as well though (Go princess go 2), they can work with other production teams, no restriction in that. But the stylist is someone else here
This production team have butchered so many stories that were female centric or had powerful and important female characters but the original story for this one was just so good they didn't manage to ruin it even with all the changes...Regardless of what people say, Xuanji will forever be ICONIC, her story, eventhough the drama didn't focus on her emotions and the sadness she went through, was absolutely epic and Crystal slayed. FULL STOP. Glad Bingyan will forever stay away from anything related to Hunarui now or she would be used as a plot device for men to get their promo again and again 🤦🏻♀ I'm just happy for all women who leave this company lmao
Exactly I actually mentioned this below as well...It was one of my first dramas so I didn't really know how the industry worked (female characters usually getting overshadowed in drama adaptations) but after reading the novel and realizing stuff I was really mad, specially as a xuanji lover...people constantly hated her character (they still do) and said the ML carried the show, xuanji was annoying, stupid,Crystal ugly etc...I'm like yeah you think he did so cause they shifted the focus of a female centric story that was literally NAMED after the female protagonist on a man on purpose lol. I'm not saying this cause I'm bitter or jealous or whatever, this always happens to so many cdramas and it's just really unfair for women! (I was obsessed with the show too but my feelings keep changing as I learn new shady things about it and see how hypocritical people are towards the FL who was the victim and the one done dirty...)

The underwear "jokes" are really unfunny...Lmao I was constantly harrassed similarly in a "lololol I keep teasing you jokingly" way by my cousin when I was a teenager (btw he was almost an adult) and I can tell you, that feels like living in hell irl
With every passing day I learn and see shit about Liuli that makes me hate the drama more and more ...The toxicity spread through the internet after this show because of the dirty marketing strategies used by the production comapny is insane to me. I feel sorry for myself to have once genuinely been so emotionally invested in a show that was actually so NOT genuinely produced and marketed lmao... Many went through a LOT for it but everything did evantually get dumped on Crystal and she became the one at blame for all the wrongs in the end...it's really really unfair like I promised myself to just not get to not get myself too attached to celebrity stuff but * sigh * I CAN'T...This is REALLY the kind of situation where people will look back at 10 years later and start realizing "yeah I think we were too mean to her she really didn't deserve it" but it'll be too late by then
