Was thinking about it in my sleep last night (as I do every night since she started airing lmfao) and came to conclusions that I really like how dfqc is a no bs man. Considering the fact that this is an Asian drama and that it has 36 episodes (short for a cdrama but still pretty long), there was really not much annoying and draggy "Now I'm gonna pretend to hate you and treat you like trash cause I'm a very tough guy and my fragile masculine ego can't accept the fact that I like you". It happened once but it was more bc he was afraid of his emotions coming back and it didn't last long.There was an appropriate amount of pushing and pulling between them that was necessary for the development of their relationship but they are both pretty straightforward and welcoming to their feelings for e/o. This is the thing I like a lot about the love line in this show and I hope they keep that in the remaining episodes too.

Okay but after thinking about it, I'd actually watch a drama with this kind of a female lead religiously. I love a good manipulative woman

Read the last sentence in my comment and you'll get why I PERSONALLY think so 🤷🏻‍♀ it's a personal opinion of mine, MY logic doesn't allow me to see a man who has multiple women, sleeps with all of them and uses them as companions when he's emotionally burdened as innocent. Most dramas want us to think wives and concubines of kings/princes/men from ancient times in general don't dislike these husbands of theirs at all and don't think they're at fault for what they go through but the reality is that that kind of a thing never happened outside of fiction. All of them deffo hated their husbands and I know she didn't want him to feel guilty, but I want him to do lol. I know what the drama is trying to tell me, I just can't buy it.

The blue whisper is already done and the upcoming ones are Back from the brink, Legend of ShenLi and Love you seven times. SiMing (the story of xlh's master) was supposed to be adopted into a drama as well (by the same company who has produced LBFAD), but there's been no news about it for a long time now. Really hope they cast Li Yitong as Siming if they actually make the drama one day!
And yes! I agree with The legends. Zhao Yao was an amazing character and the story had so much potential in general but they butchered it so bad 🤦🏻‍♀

This one was peak comedy

Just remembered the good old times Iqiyi decided "Eternal love" as the title for this drama and got everybody freak out over how stupid it was...ngl I was personally like INSTANT PASS the moment I saw that title on my ig feed. crazy how fast the night changes I guess?😹
I still think "Parting of Orchid and Demon king" would be a much better English title though.

Yup they're both from Jiu Lu Fei Xiang. Three other stories of hers are already being made into dramas. All the past drama adoption of her novels except CLJ were hella messy so I hope the upcoming ones are actually good and do her amazing storytelling justice 🤞🏻

Okay I just remembered something from The legends that reminds me of Ronghao and his master in here. The main villain in that drama was a woman who had her fiance killed by FL on her wedding day and she kept his dead corpse for YEARS and did absolutely wild shit to bring that dead man back to life...JLFX things I guess lmao (I don't know if either of these subplots are actually there in the original text or not but I think they are cause I'm sensing the same writer's pen from so many elements in both dramas)

that part where she was talking about wanting to go home so bad but holding his hand tighter GOT ME 😭 soooo much amazing and carefully thought visual detail in this drama, so many emotions expressed and so many words said without actual dialogues

I think now that this drama has reached this point, we've got to collectively agree that it proved a bubbly, cute, not necessarily physically powerful or crazy genius female character CAN still be great in her own way. Xiao Lan Hua has already shown how amazing she is a bunch of times and sorry but people who are past halfway through the show and still call her stupid whatsoever are just biased against her personality. 🤷🏻‍♀ This is probably the closest portrayal of such a woman to actual reality, what she does and the decisions she makes make lots of sense logically and her existence in general feels like an independent individual rather than a plot device for ML' redemption arc and a show off for his power.

I also think that's highly probably the case

1.RongHao is absolutely creepy and a total psycho but he's an amazing villain
2. KISS KISS KISS !!!!!!!!!🤣🤪👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨💋💕💖💗💗
3. Imma take my mean words about Chenheng back I'm starting to freaking LOVE this guy lmfao
4. dfqc's face when CH disrupted their lovey dovey moment got me rolling I could not stop laughing lol my mom's probably thinking I've finally went completely crazy 😭
5. I was at loss of words for how gorgeous all of those shots with the red curtains were. It's been said by others 1000 times already but the cameraworks and color pallets deserve emmies!
6. XLH still remains the most amazing girl in the world, she's so very sympathetic, understanding and very wise. I love how she's not turned into a puppy and a simp after falling in love and is actually considerate af. She's amazing and wholesome. FULL STOP.
7. Poor Chidi woman...Let this girl either die or live in peace you creepy people 🤦🏻‍♀
