I hesistated wanting a season 2 at first because I too respect and appreciate how realisitic the ending was... I guess i can dream 😂... I think it was a good idea after I saw the LITBC novel author quote re-tweet/x: "and this is how a spin off is born!" to a user suggesting a season 2 from Gyuho's perspective... Whether or not this comes to fruistion, ill take anything 💕

it could be that the Jiyul didnt know Jayoung's intentions/view the entire time, why she was acting the way she was. He didnt know she had a crush on him and what for. U see, he only later realized who she finally was and that it was more love from Jayoung... she obviously just wasnt direct about it. So if he was confused the entire time, which he was, idk if it was necessary for him to say he had an ex gf. Shes an EX anyways trying to win him back lol 😅

What i understand from koreans who finished the novel, several reviews said Choi Min appearing was annoying & another said shes there to test if Jiyul can be shaken easily and if he can really see Jayoung as the only one.

indeed its similar in ways! but FACT check: the novel/manhwa that this drama is based on, comes from a novel that was published in mid 2019 of the same title: https://ridibooks.com/books/3866000001?_rdt_sid=event_subgroup&_rdt_idx=0 . So, the plot of Once Upon a Small Town was written and existed already even before HTCC aired in 2021 😁
