Crown prince doesn't deserve the throne. Not only cuz of the king star but in general. The throne is UK's first. He is the real son of the late king. And CP is a puppet. Its clear he can be easily manipulated. He might know he is being controlled but he wont do anything cuz of his jealousy and inferiority complex of Jang UK.
