no love triangle. the romance isn't the main focus but there are some sweet moments sprinkled throughout the series and the final ep focuses more on the romance
I watched episode 1 of Tomorrow after this one, but it didn't grab me immediately. The worldbuilding is more fascinating…
i personally enjoyed the uncanny counter's main character quite a lot, i'm not sure why some people are calling him a crybaby and saying he was annoying. given his circumstances, it makes sense that he acts the way he does. i guess in some scenes he might've overreacted a bit but in general his character was solid, in my opinion. i like that he's just a nice kid trying to do the right thing. a lot of times with these types of stories they turn the sweet and innocent mc into a cold hearted person so i'm glad they din't do that here.
I agree with everything you wrote about this drama. The transitions were fantastic at the beginning of this drama…
yeah idk if should push through or not. so many people love this drama so i feel like i'm missing out by not finishing it but at the same time i don't want to waste my time watching something i'm not into.
ok so i've been putting this show off for the longest time bc it just never interested me that much. i remember watching the first episode but i never went past it but for some reason now i'm in the mood to see what the hype is all about since so many people love this drama. i'm about 4 eps in and although i have a ton of things to praise, especially the cinematography, the transitions, the story-telling aspect, the talk about mental health etc... the plot itself isn't grabbing me just yet. i'm intrigued by the characters and their stories but that's about it. the main couple has chemistry but i'm also not super invested in their romance just yet... i just wanna ask for those who have watched this show and without spoiling anything, is it really worth it to push through this show until the end or should i just drop it?
So I dropped Boys Over Flowers for this, thinking that I would like it more. Nope, I hated this one just the same.…
maybe give f4 thailand a try, if you're still intrigued. the same happened with me, i couldn't get into any version of boys over flowers but i ended up loving f4 thailand. not saying you will love it bc at the end of the day they all come from the same source material which has problematic aspects but i think bc f4 thailand takes a more modern and realistic approach to the story, it's a lot easier to watch in my opinion.
I am 2 episodes in and the female lead character On Jo is so irritating. So far liking everyone"s acting except…
i feel like if the acting was better no one would hate onjo as much because as a character she wasn't actually that bad, if anything she was pretty smart and also a big help to the group especially when there was high tension between them. i know park jihoo is an upcoming new actress and she's doing pretty well for herself and all the power to her but i sincerely hope she improves her acting for the next season. she's aware of how people felt about her character in s1so i have faith in her. hopefully the screenwriters/directors also don't screw it up.
I think and hope the story in season 2 will be more about Nam Ra and the others half zombies as suggested in the…
i think the director said something like that, it'd be interesting to see that for sure. i hope they bring cheongsan back somehow though, he was in my opinion the best character
Well, half of kpop fans are young immature teenagers fan, that's why.
as a kpop fan in her early 20s i really hate that stereotype but there's some true to that so i can't really deny it... however, i think it goes a little deeper than kpop having just "immature teenager fans". music aside, the kpop industry in general sells you a fantasy. there's sooo much fan service between the idols and fans, there's the whole tight bond between the group/idol and the fandom so the parasocial relationship is much stronger in kpop, making some fans illusioned. obviously there's also fandoms and fan service in the acting industry, but it's a lot more toned down compared to kpop.
i've been obsessed with him ever since i finished weak hero class 1. since then i've also seen some of his acting performances in 2521 and taxi driver. this boy has so much talent holy crap.
i can't wait to see him take even bigger roles in the future, he honestly has all that it takes to be one of the next big korean actors.
I do, however, have to admit that I have qualms with how much they changed from the original webtoon's storyline.…
i haven't read the webtoon, only comments about it but from my perspective by watching the drama i think young yi's character is there to move the plot further instead of being a love interest. ofc she jokes a lot and is always like "did you fall for me?/do you like me?" but it always came off as her joking around. in the end she's just friends with both sooho and sieun so it doesn't really matter, she's not an important character but i liked her personally.
even with the drama and the addition of the girl in my opinion it's pretty obvious that beomseok has an inferiority complex and kind of wants validation from sooho, i think him feeling some type of way about the girl and how she and sooho got close, sooho following her on insta, etc. just adds more to how he feels. he blames it all on her but it's pretty clear that it's not just because of the girl that he starts going down the dark path. he gave me the vibe of someone who has an inferiority complex, has a ton of trauma and is mentally unstable. from what i've heard his character is more humanized in the drama.
I cant accept that fact that Their friendship got ruined because of a girl. SMH 🤦🏻♀️
the girl didn't do anything wrong tho. it was mostly because beomseok couldn't express to them what was bothering him, they kept trying to ask him what was going on and he just kept descending down the dark path. the girl even apologized to him, he didn't care, he just needed someone to blame for his own insecurities and inferiority complex. as much as i can sympathize with what he went through and his trauma, beomseok needs to take responsibility for his actions. he went way overboard.
I'm honestly shocked Weak Hero Class is on this list, all I've seen are people loving it.
i watched it and tbh it wasn't all that special in my opinion. i wanted a new drama to binge and people were hyping that one a lot so i gave it a go. don't get me wrong, it's good, but in terms of plot itself nothing crazy.
So eps 2 and i read so many comments here on how the FL is "annoying" which proves to me once again that people…
i haven't even watched this drama but i totally agree with your take that people just hate on the female lead for the sake of it sometimes. it's something that has been on my mind for some time ever since i started lurking on kdrama related sites and comments. istg i've read so many comment sections for different dramas and in almost every single one of them there's always people complaining about the FL and the complains aren't even well structured, it's usually the typical "she's so annoying". obviously in some kdramas the female leads are poorly written or annoying, but i find it very hard to believe that every single drama has an "annoying" female lead... the male lead could be the worst person ever, but if he's hot enough people will worship him regardless
this drama was rlly good but the FL was so annoying like she would get jelly at the other girl for touching the…
i find it hilarious that people keep criticizing on-jo for that when the same goes for all f the 4 characters. on-jo is like the hate dumpster i swear lmao and although i have my own criticisms for her character, let's not act like all 4 of them kept worrying or mentioning their crushes in times where the situation was uncalled for. like su-hyeok and cheong-san where litteraly risking their lives going along the wall and they were talking about their crushes, that's a lot more stupid than on-jo being jealous in silence 😭
how is that selfish tho? cheong-san did pretty much the same when he saw his mom in front of him in zombie form, he was in a state of shock and not thinking straight and the same goes for her in that situation. also by that logic everything su-hyeok does for nam-ra is selfish.
Now that season 2 is confirmed, i'm a little afraid for Park Ji Ho, i mean, i afraid that her role will be reduced…
they're not really following the webtoon by heart so i hope the writers take the criticisms of her character and develop her character more. nam-ra is a more interesting character because she's a halfbie but to be honest i was more invested with cheong-san and on-jo's relationship so i'd like to see more of that as well. i personally think their relationship has more depth because they've been friends for such a long time and regardless of romantic feelings, they deeply care for one another and now all they have is one another.
It took me 4 months for me to finish this kdrama, my least favorite apocalypse plot so far. Also Nam On Jo was…
i don't like how reactionless on-jo is but at the same time she's just a teenage girl, what do you want her to do? she's pretty smart and came up with some good ideas so i'll give her that but she's not a fighter or something. although i agree that i did not care for most of the characters. the only characters i was invested in was probably cheong-san. the series is entertaining but lowkey overrated in my opinion.
Omg I know right? Their reactions didn't make any sense. I understand that they are students trapped in the school…
idk about that one. not everyone plays games or watches zombie movies. i'm in my early 20s and i don't know that much about zombies, even tho i lived through the era where every friend of mine was obsessed with the walking dead. plus what guarantees that the zombies you see in movies or games are the same as the ones they're seeing in front of them? i felt like that part was somewhat realistic in my opinion. in any other tv show you'd see them being badasses and slaying zombies left and right but here in this show it was more about their survival. they weren't trying to fight zombies or figure out what they really are and how they work, it's not up to them. they are just teens who wanna get out of there safely and go home. that being said, i did not really felt a connection to most of the characters for some reason, other than cheyong-san. so yeah i didn't really felt bad for any of them, i just felt sorry when they had to see their friends or parents die in front of them.
Ok so, the ratings and reviews look quite promising; but as someone who Hated Boys Over Flowers (the Korean version),…
i would say yes, 100%. i myself tried watching the korean version because it's so popular but i couldn't get into it at all. i tried watching the chinese version and i got interested in the story but that version is way too long and i felt like it was dragging so i started losing interest and ended up dropping it.
i didn't know a thai version existed but i came across a clip from it on yt and the cinematography looked gorgeous and the series was shorter so i decided to give it a shot. it was the best decision ever, i got hooked on it immediately. of course, feel free to make your own judgement. some people just can't get into the story in regardless of the version and that's fine but if you're curious, i recommend you this version!
