For Pingjun, she is not strategic on how to deal with high up people. But still with Tao Ziyi, she also tries to avoid her, even when she retaliate, she only does it against her followers. For Tao Ziyi's father case, I can chalk it upto her losing her judgement after seeing that jade pendent.

My only problem with FL is how she acts with ML. Because deep down if he was not a good person (I know he is still a toxic person) she would have already died or became his mistress by now.

Can someone spoil the ending for me (btw I have watched till episode 21).

I believe from his point of view there is no risk or minimal risk for her but as we know this is a drama so something will go wrong which may put her in a position where she have to choose between her career and Ye Xinzhi

She didn't really hate him at the start but think of him as a coward and hypocrite. Her hate for him is growing because of his current actions where he is using underhanded methods to try to destroy her marriage.

Also, He did gave wrong confession (most likely under threats) which led to the death to all Lishsan people who were trying to protect him including one 12 year kid. Considering how brave and courageous she was at 14 (same age as Prince Li), I don't see any issue on her looking down on him.

Xiao Xun is son of previous emperor's brother whereas Xie Yanfang is young emperor's mother's brother.

So both are young emperor's uncle. Xiao clan is imperial clan whereas Xie Clan is noble clan whose member married to previous crown prince.

For the most part I agree with you. He did right thing with capturing and not killing that guy who kidnapped the girls and that county magistrate. My only problem/disappointment is that when he is fighting large groups who are hell bent on killing him and others including ordinary people, he is still not ready to kill.

Due to this villains are escaping and continuing the bad work without suffering much damage.

Even in our world, police is allowed to shoot if criminals have drawn the gun(here we can consider sword) and are ready to shoot.

He should atleast be ready to kill known criminals like people from evil sects otherwise what's the use of carrying sharp sword. Till now, I have watched till episode 14 only, so if there is any change in his actions then I am not aware that.
