The character of Fl is too much for me. I just can’t with her kawaii acting and infantile voice, also the glaring plot holes. I do agree it’s a shame to be not able to see him, so I might pull through to watch XZ😂.

While in general I prefer the drama more than book, i think in case of ending, i like book version better.

Am I the only one who dislikes how childish the character of FL has been written? I mean how are you this dumb? Also the bangs need to go for sure. I love ML here but the FL is just so annoying. Her characters gives me heebie jeebies. I get that she’s 15 but seriously no teenager acts like her. It seems like she’s 5 not 15. She’s now added to list of extremely annoying Chinese FL characters with weird kawaii voice.

I think everyone is entitled to have their opinions. Even I did not like the drama that much and I say this as hardcore Yang Zi fan who followed this drama religiously till the end.

I mean who told him to have an affair with the concubine. Also he betrayed the Queen by his own choice. The reason why he’s not saying anything is because if he admits to using outside medicine, the first head on the chopping block would be his.

It’s because a king cannot simply kick out a minister of the court without having proof or that side minister committing treason or some major crime. The King is not a separate entity from the court. He cannot remove or place people in the court as he wishes. If he does, he’ll be called a tyrant. Ministers have factions, and other ministers in the faction might be dissatisfied. The reason why previous king did not make Hwang Won Hyung‘ daughter that is Prince Uiseong mother Queen was to curb Hwang Won Hyung power. Both current and previous Kings know that he’s pretty powerful but he has always covered his tracks exceptionally well. There’s no way to impeach him. They can only restrict his power somewhat. As to the issue of him trying to depose the Crown Prince, he gives very solid reasons why. He might be a bitch but he’s a smart one.

Alright so I am finally done with this drama and my honest review is that this was just not worth my time. I tried really hard to like it cuz I loveeee YZ but seriously what the hell was this😭😭. The plot and cast is honestly amazing but somehow the implementation was really lacking. I had real high expectations but it all went down the drain.

Empress Xuan was truly the kindest character of the show. SS not leaving her side even when she was deposed tells you a lot about SS character. She has always been a person who returns things given to her tenfold, be it love or hate. For everyone that says she is annoying, she’s like a real person. Not some Mary Sue or goddess of kindness who would bear injustice against her. Every time she took revenge, it satisfied me, for why should she be quiet. And before anyone SS is her own person, it reminds me of the heroine from the red sleeve a little. Love for her has always been about equal footing with her partner.

I think it was because they had no evidence to prove it. As LBY said that his words could be discredited by the fact that he was taught to say those by his aunt who was jealous of the second wife.

I dislike SS mother so why did it hurt when she cried at the end of ep 51🥲

With her son, it was definitely wrong to send him to USA but she wasn’t just doing it for herself, part of it was also to save her son from the brunt of the scandal. And in WYW scenario, what else was she supposed to do? Wyw was being used as a took to harm her and it’s not like “disappear” was what was gonna happen to wyw, she would be given a proper job and expert counselling in Boston.
