I loved this piece! The writing is really engaging, and it hit a lot of good points for me! 💗✨ I started of as a pretty isolated J-drama viewer as a kid, I don't think I was even aware that there was a community for dramas. But once I got into K-drama and C-drama I realised that Asian dramas and the drama community are pretty much interconnected.
Honestly, I'm only just easing out of "must-watch-all-hyped-dramas, must-fit-in" phase. Whenever I force myself to watch something purely for hype reasons, it all just feels so meaningless and I get antsy to move on to the next drama asap. I recently spent a while cleaning out my 'plan to watch' list, leaving just the stuff that I'm genuinely interested in. Because the dramas that I really love aren't ones which I feel forced to watch because of hype, but ones that I gravitate towards naturally.
But I will say, as someone who has zero friends that watch Asian dramas, watching over hyped dramas while they're airing is especially fun for me. I get to experience every single moment with the rest of the fandom and it's just nice to have people to discuss it with ~
Ahh I wish there was an option for the op to comment on each drama in the list. I really wanna know the reasons why you don't like some of these. I agree with a few but I haven't seen a lot of these dramas so to me it just seems like a list of the most popular dramas of all time lol
Idk what's with the rating but I personally really liked the show. I think I went in with the expectation that there'd be a greater focus on the whole anonymous cam-girl thing (since it's a major part of all the promotional stuff), but that didn't last too long so was a bit disappointed on that front. However, everything else was pretty good. I liked how all of the characters are flawed (or deeply messed up) in one way or another. One second I'd be rooting for a character, the next second I'd hate them. It was weirdly refreshing and ig it helped convey a broader message.
I feel like this sort of story line and format is more what I expect from kmovies so it's sick to see it being translated into kdramas! I'm excited to see more unique dramas like this coming out :)
Ikr!!!! Just can't take it!Either this or SOKP anyone of them can be my healing dosage!Well there's rumor that…
Seen a lot of ppl saying 2024, but I'm gonna stay hopeful!! For now I might just rewatch Moonlight or ROTLF cus I need the silly goofy esther vibes for my sanity
so yuanzhi and weishan aren't going to have a love line???
I kinda thought/hoped GYZ was gonna have a little crush on YWS or smth too, since there isn't really a 2nd love interest for her, but I think it's too late for that plot line now 🤷♀️
The synopsis nor the pictures from the drama are historical. I'm confused.
Idk about the synopsis, but the pictures are from a variety show called Lets Go Skiing that YSX and LY are in. It doesn't really have anything to do with the drama.
I gotta say, S1 and S2 feel like two completely different dramas, not that it's inherently a bad thing. Also, poor Seo Yul silently suffering every season. My second lead syndrome really kicks in with him.
WOW! First ever?!? How did u even stumble across this one lol
Completely an accident. Misclicked the link for this on the MDL homepage. I'm sucker for period dramas so I decided to give it a go anyway. Now I'm addicted :)
