I wanted to see this drama after I heard the news about LSK. hadn't seen anything he was in before so obviously I went for the highest rated drama. his acting was top tier. it's heartbreaking how the world lost such wonderful talent. I bet he was a good human too. may his soul rest in peace.
now about the drama, I have mixed feelings. First of all, it was very depressing for me. second of all, I was very uncomfortable with the wire tapping thing. it was very hard to watch the girl listening on every single move ML makes. all throughout the drama I was hoping and hoping for her to stop doing that. to realise that it wasn't right and come clean. I also don't like how easily he forgave her. imagine someone listening in on you every second, without leaving an ounce of privacy. would you forgive them? I understand that all this come together to show the character of the ML. he's too kind. he's willing to overlook anything for the people he loves and cares about. but still, it's not okay. it makes him even more pitiful. I feel very sorry for him. I must though, praise their acting. everyone did so well. I liked the side plots as well. except for the actress I basically skipped all her scenes she was too annoying. I love the brotherhood and also the friends at the bar. this drama did bring up some really good life lessons.
I overall enjoyed it. but my heart is still heavy.
After dropping and picking back up this show during ep 1 multiple times, I finally sat myself down and finished it all. my favourite thing about this is its back in time where you need to actually communicate in person and deal with them in real time. it was such a good time to be alive. the plot was nothing crazy but I loved the slow burn and it did tug at my heartstrings every once in a while. not the best romance drama I've seen, but it was good.
this was a cute and refreshing show for me. although it doesn't have any groundbreaking plot and was quite predictable, it was fun to watch. if I'm honest I did watch some scenes in 2X speed but overall it was good. you just have to avoid thinking too deep in to it and just enjoy the show. like I said it's a good show for a break in between watching heavy dramas or after a stressful day. the ML is a treat to the eyes. the FML was beautiful and likeable. 8/10
before I started watching, I remember one of the earlier comments said that if you're watching this, you'll have to lock your brain away and I totally get it now ππ
Its a master piece i love the bromance female lead is a little dumb but not annoying its bearable
she carried most of the investigations how do u conclude that she's dumb. she was basically the brain of the squad, most of the time she was the one to help tae joo overcome the confusions and mysteries. she had a great eye for details and was a great profiler. just because she is soft-spoken and shy doesn't mean she's dumb!
I don't have words to express myself tbh. this was on my watch list for years bc of the high ratings but I was always skeptical and chose other dramas over it. I wanna pat myself on the head because I finally brought myself to start it. binged it in 2 days and I rarely feel this content after finishing a drama. I love everything about this.
I haven't seen the original show this is based on, so I can't compare the plot. but I loved the drama so much. the characters, the 80's setting, all the mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat, the warm and beautiful frindship/comradeship, the subtle yet hilarious comedy and above all, the precious life lessons you get from it. I was never bored watching it, it was always interesting. if you're wondering whether you should give it a go, think no further, it's a masterpiece you must not miss out.
12 episodes would've been just perfect for this drama. I was really liking it but now I have a feeling that there going to be useless filler episodes to drag until 16. :(
here while rewatching this for the 3rd time, I figured I haven't posted a comment on here. ignoring the obvious taboo, I always come back to this drama because of the the sea of emotions it puts me through. It manages to tug at my heartstrings scene after scene. it makes my heart sink, dance, shatter and do all sorts of things. it's neither too short nor too long. all the characters are pretty much likeable except the mom and the runa girl. the FL is so pretty and I'm forever a simp for the ML damn he's hot. I adore the gorgeous rural settings and beautiful sceneries. the overall feel of this drama is very warm and fuzzy, even though the plot is quite angsty. but you will not be dissapointed, so go ahead and watch this. if you're greatly bothered by age gaps, or student teacher romances, this may not entertain you so take that in to consideration as well.
the second ML was the actual ML LOL. like why give him so much screen time and important parts if he was going to be ignored in the last episode? it kinda ruined everything for me. ML mostly just threw a few punches and orderd everyone what to do... there's a heavy imbalance in their roles. everything rushing up in the last episode was like throwing whatever you find in a bag in an emergency. I recommend S2 which is way more interesting and well put together.
this exceeded S1 in every possible way. main lead was so good wow why isn't he more famous? everybody did so damn well. the plot was much more believable and my favourite thing was the character development. min chul, his sister, the cop, the baby momma, all had very good character development. they wrapped up the season very well. nothing felt rushed or messy. well planned storyline and overall great show!
