Ahhh okay, yeah he is gentler and sillier in the series. I like to think he'd remain how is he is in the series even if he were to top. I personally prefer series Liu Yi.

I just finished the novel that someone translated on Wattpad, and it was such a fun ride. I cried, laughed, giggled like crazy and stayed up all night and got a headache at work, 10/10 would do it again
He Chu San even bottoms for Xia Lu Hi in the extra chapters towards the end! I had NO idea they were a reversible couple in the novel! It caught me offguard when He Chu San practically pesters Xia Lui Yi that he wants to try bottoming. I checked novelupdates and they are tagged as reversible over there as well, so I was like huh how did I miss that! I LOVE exclusive manly bottom and pretty top pairings bc it's so rare in BL dramas with the top being physically useless (sorry He Chu San), but I can totally see these two in particular switch it up for variety at some point with He Chu San doing the topping like 90 percent of time.
He Chu San is such a mischievous gremlin even though he seems like the silent academic type, like you guys have to read the novel. The number of times this man schemes for Xia Lui Yi, like he plans ahead and plays 3D chess with enemies to save Xia Lui Yi. It's so heartwarming and painful but sweet af. The sex is hot. All the side couples were really entertaining too!
Also, Cui DongDong, I love you, pls just step on me my queen. The actress is just eye catching when she appears on screen and she was just great in the book
After 'The On1y One' series, I swore I would NEVER pick up BLs with rumoured and unconfirmed second seasons, but here we are yet again. This couple was too irresistible to pass up. I mean, nerdy shy top and gangster bottom? It's like it was specifically crafted by the powers above for me. After watching all 7 eps, I am like yup, gotta prepare in the trenches for severe withdrawal symptoms once the 9 eps are over. Why do I never learn??
Atleast this show helped me get over Word of Honor (which I hyperfixated on for months after discovering it like five years after it aired lol). I need to find another Chinese BL stat! I don't know what's in Chinese and Taiwanese BLs that elevates it so much.
