I guess I take the hard work of the k-drama creative and craft teams too seriously. Blame it on my film studies background. But as someone who watches many k-dramas, I'm sure you do as well. It's fine with me if someone dislikes a drama and drops it after watching one-two eps. But it gives a false impression to anyone who visits this site to find out about a drama if those who've dropped it also give it a very poor rating.

Roddib thinks that I'm among the people who should be blocked for saying that some viewers are offended by reality (i.e. the violent, sexist situations depicted in the drama). She quotes me along with those who said, "low IQ," "obese," etc.
This page has the most shocking insults against other MDL users I've ever seen ("low IQ" "insane"…

It's a victim of an attack by people who are offended by reality.
I agree. It's impressive not least because the scriptwriter really knows the business and it feels like she's telling it like it is. As you probably know, according to the testimony of some of Weinsteins victims, his female assistant was the enabler, telling his victims who thought they were seeing Weinstein for an interview that it would be held in a hotel room. Yes, BTS is a very interesting character. The obsessed fanboy whose dream of possessing everyone's favorite movie star has come true. But I think there's reason to believe that he continues to help and protect her because that's how he still sees her--his possession. And that's fine with her; as long as his passion for her persists, she owns him as well. Ha Ji-won's acting is amazing. No way she doesn't win another Baeksang.

True. Not everyone can identify with or at least have empathy for women who are struggling to survive in professions in which they're swimming with sharks and the moral ambiguity that inevitably goes with it (because it's in man's predatory nature to take advantage of such women). So instead of attacking the predators, they attack the victims and the show.
They want all female characters to act like brainless children. It pisses me off, we are in 2026! 26 YEARS into…
The SBS awards were already presented, and although she was nominated for QM, the Baeksang went to Lee Je-hoon for Taxi Driver and GHJ received the Top Excellence award. I'd like to think that the reason they didn't give her the Baeksang MIGHT have been that she indicated in advance that she wouldn't be attending the televised ceremony.

If you haven't already, perhaps check out practically any drama starring Go Hyun-jung from The Great Queen Seon-deok, which features two brilliant women, a heroine and an anti-heroine, to Queen Mantis in which she plays a bat-shit crazy former serial killer whose face acting is incredible. Also, Kim Sun-ah in The Lady in Dignity, an anti-heroine who somehow manages to make you root for her.

During the pandemic, I went back and watched some k-dramas from 1995-2015 and there have always been just as many with strong, intelligent, FLs, some even morally compromised. K-drama production companies seem to have always made a point of offering their viewers (who are mainly women), a choice of what to watch. The difference today maybe is that viewers who want standard romance tropes, ML and FLs with only good intentions, are choosing to watch dramas like Climax, which require an open mind and an understanding that some heroines aren't sweet and innocent and don't suffer in silence. And then come here to complain and give an excellent drama a 1.0 rating!
