Yes. A lot of them. At first, I enjoyed all of the colorful cgi and the gorgeous actors in gorgeous, apparently authentic, costumes and extraordinary hair and makeup doing martial arts and flying through the air with the help of wires and by other artificial means. But now not so much.

Some of the same people have continued to post negative comments about the drama and are trying to influence newcomers not to watch it.

Well, Disney+ wanted chatter and they sure are getting it.

C-drama writers are desperately trying to come up with new themes for their costume dramas. Wish their production companies would also stop the wall-to-wall music and vocals running over scenes with dialogue. I mean...why? No faith in the script or the actors?

Everything done the old-fashioned way--with a camera and film. In one jaw-dropping sequence, they flooded an entire street.

As you watch the incredible cinematography bear in mind that director Bong didn't resort to computer generated imaging, AI, or any other technological b.s. It's all real.

I agree. No way is she a villain. There's a tendency to regard smart FLs who are able to out-strategize and out-manipulate the male characters on her way to the top as villains. And it's exciting to know that apart from the writer taking artistic license and making her a slave to begin with, Empress Ki was a real person who rose from concubine to de facto ruler. 10/10 for me as well, but Ha Ji-won is just as great in a few of her other roles. Damo half-killed me, and I was also wrecked after Hwang Ji-yi (another real person).

I'm remembering the last scene in the film, "Parasite," and I'm wondering if we'll see a similar scene in "Climax." If so, as a cinephile, I will totally freak.

Sang Ah and Tae Seop need each other. They seem to me to have the very definition of a symbiotic relationship. "A symbiotic relationship is defined as an intimate interaction between two or more species, which can be beneficial, neutral, or harmful to one or both parties involved. This relationship can take various forms, including mutualism (both species benefit), commensalism (one benefits while the other is unaffected), and parasitism (one benefits at the expense of the other). In essence, symbiosis encompasses any close and long-term biological interaction between organisms of different species."

And if you take into account her movies AND her k-dramas in more different genres than any other actress I can think of. She's really pretty amazing.

Some people only watched 1-2 eps and didn't like it. So, they rated it 5.0 and less. Same for others who were offended by some of the "controversial" content.

Great cast. I was hoping to see Claudia Kim again after watching "Chimera."

Imo she's not corrupt. Nor morally grey. But she sacrifices love for power. Fans of the show still love it and her character because the weak prince, whom she chooses and who becomes emperor is played by heartthrob Ji Chang-wook in what I think was his breakout role. Trust me, it's a really great, addictive show.

Yep, Jeong-wan definitely wants to replace Sang-ah. When will she start looking like her?

No, not the villain. She starts out as a weak prince's bodyguard and the more he depends on her (and falls for her) the more interested she becomes in power. Leave it to Ha Ji-won to be the FL in one of the most unusual k-dramas of the period.
