She's playing a character with an eating disorder. Some actresses actually take their roles seriously.
I hope you have stopped watching this drama and are now turning your attention to one that I don't plan to watch.

By the way, the case of actress Lee Eun Joo’s passing amid allegations that she was pressured into filming a bed scene, is portrayed in Climax. In order for k-dramas to say something is bad or wrong, they have to show what the bad or wrong thing IS.

Stop deflecting. That's another issue. Ha Ji-won lost weight to play a character who is anorexic. When she was playing the role of a North Korean soldier, she learned to speak with a North Korean dialect. Throughout her career, she has also done all of her own stunts. I'm willing to bet you that NO ONE tells Ha Ji-won to do anything she doesn't want to do.

She also has a great turn in The Glory
Yes! And she really rules in The Queen Who Crowns. Amazing screen presence.

Classic obsessive behavior. But I agree; obsession isn't love.

The 7.5 rating makes no sense. This drama is riveting. And Cha Joo-young is proving to be an absolutely amazing actress.

I felt that way about all of the school bullying dramas, but I watched them anyway, thinking that k-drama writers and production companies must be trying to do something to help stop this from happening, particularly as it relates to the out-of-control teen suicide rate. And recently I read that the most highly prized universities in South Korea were refusing to admit students with a record of school bullying regardless of their grades and/or their parents' wealth. K-dramas helped with that.

Ah, what your daughter said sounds right. I'm about to start watching a c-drama called How Dare You? No SA. Should be fun.

I loved this drama. Great writing, strong, feisty, outspoken, young heroine whose family not only allowed her to be herself but also depended on her to keep them safe. Guan Xiao-yin perfect casting.

And the writing of makjangs is usually great. By which I mean, you're hooked and can't wait to find out what happens next. The World of the Married is an excellent example of a high quality makjang. I think VIP is on the same level.

It's an inconvenient truth that not all women have signed on to the concept of "the sisterhood," and in business settings, women who've managed to climb the ladder often treat other women in their orbit like crap. This drama is just dramatizing that inconvenient truth.

I love all of the lead actors, and I'll watch anything they're in. And because my background is in film studies, I pay attention to everything all of the characters say and do, and every visual clue that the director gives the viewer. So, idk, maybe those are the reasons I'm so into this drama.
